Edgar Cayce Readings on Migraine
[NOTE: The following groups of Edgar Cayce readings resulted from a
search of the Complete Edgar Cayce Readings on CD-ROM (DOS version)
using "migraine" as the search descriptor. The search contains a
couple of readings in which Edgar Cayce stated that the individual did
not have migraine, but that the condition could become migraine.
Also, several readings may involve headache that do not meet the current
(International Headache Society - IHS) criteria for migraine.]

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes. As we find here, there are disturbances that will require
a long period of varied treatments, if there is to be any permanent or
greater mental aid. For here we find at birth there weren't the precautions,
nor were there the cares taken in tieing the navel center, and these have
caused cross-currents through the body, so that from the frontal solar
plexus all forms of disturbances arise, especially as the various cycles
of change come into the body.
3. As is seen, there are periods when, with the least activity, or a
great deal of pressure, it produces that called palpitation of the heart;
disturbance of the vision; the feet are disturbed. At regular periods the
menstrual flow is in disorder, causing a great deal of distress to the
body.
There is very poor eliminations at times; inactivity
to the alimentary canal.
4. As we find, to bring corrections we would use the short wave, about
three amperes. Attach about twice a week. One time use the attachment in
the solar plexus, the 9th dorsal; the other to be, that same week, on the
abdominal area, even over the center itself, though it will cause a great
deal of distress, possibly headache, or aching in the feet for at least
three or four periods when these are used, but this is the manner in which
the nerve centers that center there, may be gradually brought to coordinate,
though they may make extremes in some of the reactions in the body.
5. Be mindful that there are precautions as to the directions that all
these currents flow, especially when the application of the short wave
is made to the navel or umbilical center, that that which directs the flow
to the heart's activity is not stressed, but that which directs the flow
to the lower
portions of the body. These we find, offer better reactions.
6. Osteopathic adjustments will aid. These are to be relaxing to the
centers regularly where there is the closer connection between the cerebrospinal
and the sympathetic nervous systems, as in the 3rd cervical; the 1st, 2nd,
3rd, 4th and 9th dorsal; the axis lumbar areas, and throughout the sacral
region.
7. These we would do, if we would bring better conditions for this body.
8. We are through with this reading.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, as we find, the tendencies here are for the accumulations
of drosses through the hindrances which have been experienced by an accident,
or a pressure as produced upon the areas in the sacral and ileac plexus.
3. These have brought about those tendencies for these segmentations,
so that the obstructions in circulation bring to the head accumulations,
and thus the violent character of headaches experienced at times.
4. These, as we find, should be dissipated and, unless they are, may
grow to become constitutional or turn towards what is sometimes called
migraine headaches.
5. These are not true migraine, rather are they the thickening of tissue
which causes the pressure over the eyes, from the particular area indicated
in the lumbar, and where the brush end of the cerebrospinal and the sympathetic
nerve reflex, from the 3rd cervical, branch into the area.
6. We would first have two or three low - not higher than three amperes
- of the short-wave or radio-active-wave of electrical treatments. These
should be over the areas of the lumbar and sacral.
7. Then follow these with osteopathic treatments, though give about
two or three of the electrical treatments to one of the adjustments or
stimulations for increasing the normal balance of circulation throughout
the rest of the system.
8. These, as we find, followed through consistently, persistently may
rid these disturbances, as well as producing conditions where improvements
will be in the general status of this body, [5285].
9. Ready for questions.
10. (Q) Any specific treatment for the eyes?
(A) The short-wave and the adjustments which are to be made will aid.
The adjustments will include the upper dorsals and throughout the cervical
areas, including the nerves and energies which are to be stimulated or
relaxed about the head and neck, see?

of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5200].
3. As we find, there are disturbances which may at times prove very
serious, very aggravating and make for a great deal of anxiety.
4. These, as we find, arise from conditions which exist along the alimentary
canal. The greater portion of this exists in the lower portion of the colon,
as some of the sphincter centers, from nobules or a plethora gathering
lymph and blood, and thus causing or producing hemorrhages in those areas;
bringing great distress by the very nature of their secretions and activities.
5. As we find, there should be used this as an injection into the rectal
area, and when used the body should lie for at least 30 minutes to an hour
with the feet much higher than the head, or raising not just the feet but
the lower portion of the abdominal area, see? Use this: To one ounce of
Glycerine, add 2 drops of Carbolic Acid; mix thoroughly, then add to this
2 ounces of Nujol or Usoline. Divide this into 2 quantities, after being
thoroughly mixed. Use one as an injection, using an ear syringe to inject
same.
6. Then after a period of ten days, repeat this.
7. These, we find, will allay the disturbing conditions.
8. Also take internally, about 3 times each week, Yellow Saffron Tea,
or the Spanish Saffron, though the Yellow American Saffron would be preferable,
as it will be more uniform. Take a pinch between thumb and forefinger,
put into a teacup, fill with boiling water. Cover and let stand for thirty
to thirty-five minutes, strain, cool and drink.
9. Also, once during each day do take a pinch of Elm Bark. This should
be prepared much in the same manner, though this should be let stand for
at least an hour and a half, cool and drink.
10. This, as we find, if it is kept regularly, will alleviate those
disturbances with this body.
11. Ready for questions.
12. (Q) What is the cause of the trouble?
(A) As has been indicated. This is as a forming of a tumor, but of
a lymph tumor in the lower portion of the colon area.
13. (Q) Is it karmic, or is it due to something in my life this time?
(A) These come from too much highly seasoned foods.
14. (Q) What is it that I need to get right within myself in order to
be healed?
(A) Take these corrections physically and then apply self from the
spiritual angle; for all healing must come from the divine within. Know
that ye meet yourself and those errors of physical, mental or spiritual
as indicated. This is a condition which is more physical than mental or
spiritual, but the spiritual attitude keep in that way, as indicated in
Exodus 19:5, and as given in the admonitions of the 30th of Deuteronomy.
We will find there will bring the awareness of thy oneness with Creative
Forces, or God.
15. (Q) What is the cause of the migraine headaches, which usually precede
the rectal hemorrhages?
(A) The conditions in colon. That is why these injections are to be
given to heal the prolapsus in the ascending colon.

of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, just stirring. We have the body here [5111].
3. As we find, there are disorders which are gradually growing more
and more disturbing to the body. For the lesions in the areas of the 6th
and 7th dorsals make hindrances, more and more, in the activity of the
lacteal duct, in the lower portion or in the left side and lower portion
of the jejunum.
As these cause more and more lesions to form, or
adhesions, greater and greater become the headaches and nausea and the
weakness that comes with this, causing greater and greater
pressures upon both the sympathetic nervous system and (is beginning
to make pressures upon) the organs of elimination, the kidneys and bladder.
4. As we find, we would use these alternately: that is, one day use
Castor Oil packs over the abdomen, sufficiently large to cover the area
of the lower portion of the liver, and extend to the caecum and to the
lower portion of the left side also. Make the Packs out of three or four
thicknesses of flannel and saturate with Castor Oil, and when this is applied
over the portions indicated, use the electric pad. Have a good size electric
pad, not just a small one. Keep this on for at least one hour.
5. The next day apply Glyco-Thymoline, not Castor Oil, and use cotton
cloths instead of the flannel. Apply over the same areas as the Castor
Oil Packs.
6. After this has been given for an hour, do have a gentle massage.
Sponge off first with tepid soda water. Use about a teaspoonful of baking
soda in a quart of tepid water and sponge off the area covered with the
oil. Then massage with cocoa butter. This massage should be gentle but
deep.
7. After these have been taken, two Castor Oil Packs and two Glyco-Thymoline
Packs, have a high colonic irrigation scientifically given.
8. Rest from these for two weeks, then repeat, and also have another
colonic irrigation.
9. Though this has been long-standing, the second series should eliminate
the sources. This may reoccur, but one of the series should eliminate sources.
After each of these Packs, if it is necessary, give the massage to the
body.
10. It would be well during the second series of packs to have osteopathic
manipulations. These should not be adjustments, but relaxing treatments,
from the 1st cervical to the end of the coccyx, using the extremities as
levers in the exercise of the abdominal areas, stretching the arms up,
pulling the limbs and holding up and twisting out.
11. These will aid.
12. Do that.

of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5052].
3. As we find while there are many conditions that are very good, there
are those that cause a great deal of disturbance to the body, and become
very aggravating at times.
4. These as we find arise from a condition that exists through the alimentary
canal, especially as part of the circulation in the colon. From the pressure
there arises the periodic headaches that are the source of the general
nervous disturbance in the body.
5. These as we find may be removed. They are the sources of those that
are at times called the types of headaches which refuse to respond to any
of the ordinary treatments, and will become constitutional unless there
is something done about it.
6. As we find we would have the application once or twice a week of
Castor Oil Packs. If these could be given regularly for several days, it
might be more easily eliminated. But when it is practical, at least twice
a week, apply over the abdomen, and especially the caecum, and extending
up the right side to the gall duct area, Castor Oil Packs. Keep them on
for at least one hour or one and one-half hours at the time. Cover this
with an electric pad when it has been covered so that it doesn't soil the
linens from the oil. Make the pack with two or three thicknesses of flannel,
preferably old flannel; saturate the flannel, not just pour on, but saturate
the flannel with the Castor Oil.
7. The next day taken internally at least 2 tbsp. of olive oil.
8. Each time following the application of the oil packs, massage the
body along the spine, especially the areas from the lumbar axis to that
area between the shoulders, with cocoa butter; massage this thoroughly
for at least fifteen to twenty minutes, and let all the cocoa butter that
the body will absorb be rubbed into same.
9. This as we find, if it is followed, will relieve the sources of this
disturbance.
10. Ready for questions.
11. (Q) Is this connected with the foot trouble which has recently developed,
and what causes this?
(A) This is, as has been indicated, a part of the condition. Massage
from the lumbar axis. Foot trouble is a reflex pressure on the nerves that
lead to the brain through the nerves of the sympathetic system to the cerebrospinal
center.
12. (Q) Should the Olive Oil be taken the second day of the packs, or
after every pack?
(A) Should be taken after each pack, the next day after the pack is
given. Cleanse the portions with a weak solution of soda water, then massage
after each pack also. Use cocoa butter in the massage, see? Do that and
we will rid the conditions in this body.
13. We are through with this reading.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. As we find, these conditions have
gradually grown much worse as the impactions in the colon area have added
to the congestions in the liver and gall duct. These increase the headaches,
the sick headaches and nausea, hard headaches. These, as we find, are not
migraine but they may become such unless measures are taken.
3. We would continue the sedatives occasionally until there has been
the opportunity for the activities from these treatments, but it is better
to take three to four aspirins than to take even one dose of the other
properties that have been taken. For those that are so much of the codeine
are increasing the activities in the gall duct area.
4. First, we would begin by having a high colonic irrigation. Don't
try to give too much at once or it will become too severe for the body.
Have these at least ten days apart until all the mucous is cleansed from
the colon. To each gallon of water, body temperature, use a level teaspoonful
of baking soda and a heaping teaspoonful of table salt, thoroughly dissolved
before the water is injected.
5. In the last water use two tablespoonsful of Glyco-Thymoline to the
gallon of rinse water, body temperature.
6. Continue these regularly until all the mucous is out of the system.
7. After the first colonic, begin taking Castor Oil Packs for an hour
and a half each day for three days in succession each week - the same three
days each week. Apply these over the liver and gall duct and extend to
the caecum on the right side. For the engorgement in the colon is upon
the ascending and a portion of the transverse colon.
8. After the first Pack has been given, begin taking every three hours
about half to a teaspoonful of Olive Oil. Don't take it during the night
but during the day, or if the body is awake at night, take it at the regular
periods, throughout the whole three-day period of using the packs.
9. On the third day, after the last of the Packs, have a very good massage.
If this is impractical, do use the electrically driven vibrator, which
the body may apply to itself. Use the cup applicator. Let this be across
the area of the diaphragm and over the liver, down and across the groin
and lower portion of the abdomen and as far around on the back as possible.
It would be better for this to be applied by someone else, though the body
could do it for itself.
10. Leave off the applications, then, until the next week. Then have
the Packs again for three days, also the Olive Oil being taken internally,
followed by the massage at the end of the three-day period.
11. Repeat this procedure several times and we will find that we will
remove the cause of these disturbances for this body. Thus we will get
farther and farther away from the headaches and the distresses.
12. As fast as possible, leave off the sedatives.
13. Ready for questions.
14. (Q) Is there a slight tumor on the spinal cord?
(A) No. There are some subluxations but these are not tumors.
15. (Q) What is the swelling and stiffness in my right thumb?
(A) The poisons in the body, lack of proper eliminations. Thus the
colonic irrigation at the beginning of the treatments. Do as indicated
and we will make better conditions.
16. (Q) Any advice regarding the diet?
(A) Do not take fats or oils; that is, fats such as greases, during
the period of these applications, especially. Do increase the amount of
green vegetables. Do use a great deal of liquids, but not so much as to
cause gas through the abdominal area.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [4023].
3. As we find, there are disturbances which prevent the better physical
functioning of this body. These under the existent conditions, unless changes
are wrought, must gradually grow to cause other combinations that would
become more and more disturbing or distressing to the body.
4. We find that these began some time back when there was poor eliminations
manifested in the body. While some conditions have been bettered at times
these have left in portions of the colon the disturbing conditions that
constantly - when there is an activity of the body on the feet or moving
about to any extent - cause what has been termed migraine headache or pressures
upon the 5th nerve; so as to cause, as it were, all characters of nerve
tension through head and face, teeth - or in gums, sinus, soft tissue of
face and head.
5. Also from these disturbances in the colon there are diabetic tendencies,
or there is the inability of the body to control the activities of sugars
taken into the body.
6. The use of sedatives only aggravates the varied disturbances produced
in the body by pressures upon the nerves produced from the plethoric condition
in the ascending colon.
7. Hence the pressures or fullness at times experienced by the body
in the right side of the lower portion of the abdomen, extending at times
almost across the body at the diaphragm area, or across the colon.
8. These, as we find, being of longstanding, will require patience and
persistence and a consistent effort on the part of the body, if there would
be any permanent help of a nature other than merely palliatives. This will
require serious effort of series after series then, of such applications
as may be indicated, that will aid in alleviating and correcting the sources
of the disturbance.
9. We would begin first with a series of colonic irrigations. These
should be given scientifically, and in the first series should be some
two weeks or more apart, being kept up until there in no mucous indicated
in the stool or discharge as these are given.
10. Have the water body temperature and to each gallon put at least
a heaping teaspoonful of baking soda and a heaping teaspoonful of table
salt, thoroughly dissolved.
11. In the last water injected, as the rinse water for the colonic,
use at least two tablespoonfuls of
Glyco-Thymoline to the gallon of water, body-temperature.
12. We would also use the Radio-Active Appliance for an hour to two
hours each day, whenever there is the recurrence of the pain in the face
and head. The attachment plates are to be kept very clean, being polished
with the emery paper before and after attaching. Do prepare the Appliance
in the ice about twenty minutes before it is attached to the body. Do apply
the same anode or plate first each time. Alternate the attachments in the
regular manner indicated, being sure to keep these intact.
13. Instead of using so much insulin; this can be gradually diminished
and eventually eliminated entirely if there is used in the diet one Jerusalem
artichoke every other day. This should be cooked only in Patapar paper,
preserving the juices and mixing with the bulk of the artichoke, seasoning
this to suit the taste. The taking of the insulin is habit forming. The
artichoke is not habit forming, not sedative-producing in the body as to
cause accumulations of poisons as do sedatives; though it will be necessary
to take a sedative when there are the attacks, but take a hypnotic rather
than a narcotic - only under the direction, however, of a physician. Gradually
decrease the quantity of this sedative as the Appliance, with the series
of the colonic irrigations, begins to produce a different reaction in the
body.
14. There will possibly occur no feeling from the use of the Appliance,
except the feeling of being sleepy. Do go to sleep when this occurs. When
the Appliance is used, let this period be devoted to prayer and meditation
- not as a period for planning the day's work or other activities, but
as a period of resting and repeating the 23rd Psalm or the Lord's prayer,
or both. Let the meditation end ever with these thoughts, but in the entity's
own words:
LORD, USE ME IN THE WAY AND MANNER IN WHICH I MAY BE A BETTER
CHANNEL AND OF A GREATER SERVICE TO THEE IN THE EARTH, NOW.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes. Here we have disturbances that are rather of unusual natures.
In many respects the conditions here resemble migraine headaches, yet these
reach such proportions at times that there is the lapse of memory, that
there is then the incoordination in certain areas where the
imaginative and the retentive system are disordered, or so disturbed
as to bring these lapses.
3. We find that these are materially aided, but there have been administrations
that in some respects have helped, and in others made the cure worse than
the disease.
4. As in most conditions of the nature of migraine or so-called headaches,
the cause is in the colon - where there are patches of adhesions of fecal
forces to the walls of the intestine, causing activities that come in general
cycles. These may come at times regularly, almost so that you could set
this by your clock at times; for it is as the regularity of the system
itself.
5. We would regularly use high colonic irrigations; not attempting to
remove all the disturbance here at one treatment but gradually. In the
first waters injected, use alkaline Petrolagar - a tablespoonful to each
quart of body temperature water - keeping this well stirred while the colonic
is being given; rather have the water just one degree below body temperature.
6. In the last gallon of rinse water, use two tablespoonsful of Glyco-Thymoline
to the half a gallon of water, - or a tablespoonful to each quart of water
but use as much as a gallon. This, too, should be near body temperature.
7. Possibly eighteen of such colonics should be given, not too often
in the beginning - and do not use them without the Petrolagar being used
in the first waters injected and the Glyco-Thymoline in the last waters.
8. After each colonic, give the body a massage, not only for the abdominal
area but all over the body and especially massaging thoroughly the abdominal
area. Use this combination of oils:
Peanut Oil.................2 ounces,
Olive Oil..................2 ounces,
Lanolin (liquefied)......1/4 ounce.
9. Use the Radio-Active Appliance to cause the body to sleep of evening.
If this is left on over night, don't worry about it. If after the first
application or two there is the tendency for this to irritate the body,
take it off after using it for an hour - but it will aid in distributing
or equalizing circulation throughout the body.
10. In the diet, while predigested or semi-liquid foods must be taken
often, let these not be all; for there will gradually be a change in the
effect created throughout the alimentary canal - with these treatments
suggested. For the time being we will still have some periods of the violent
headaches and one or two periods of the lapses of memory. Yet if these
applications are kept consistently and persistently we may bring better
conditions and material aid for this body.
11. Ready for questions.
12. (Q) Will the treatment suggested also remove the spells of depression?
(A) This is the source of them - as indicated - the toxic forces or
poisons, and the lapses, when there are those tendencies for over-anxiety
and the feeling sorry for self. Feel sorry for someone else, not for self!
Plenty of individuals in much worse fix than the entity! Try to do something
about it, not merely in just thinking about it, but doing something materially
- and it'll help you as much as or more than it will help those you try
to help, though you may minister to their lacking in the better balance.
13. We are through with this reading.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present
time, with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions,
as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes. Here we find some complications - the effects of or the
beginning of migraine headaches. Most of these, as in this case, begin
from congestions in the colon. These cause
toxic conditions to make pressures on the sympathetic nerve centers
and on the cerebrospinal system. And these pressures cause the violent
headaches, and almost irrational activities at times.
3. These, as we find, should respond to colonic irrigations. But first,
we would x-ray the colon, and we will find areas in the ascending colon
and a portion of the transverse colon where there are fecal forces that
are as cakes.
4. There will be required several full colonic irrigations, using salt
and soda as purifiers for the colon; and we will find that these conditions
will be released. The first cleansing solution should have two level teaspoonsful
of salt and one level teaspoonful of soda to the gallon of water, body
temperature. Also in the rinse water, body temperature, have at least two
tablespoonsful of Glyco-Thymoline to the quart and a half of water.
5. Also we would use the Radio-Active Appliance each day for at least
an hour, letting this be the period for meditation and study for the analyzing
of self. Keep the attachment plates very clean, polishing them with the
emery paper each time before attaching to the ankle and the wrist, and
polishing them each time when taking them off.
6. Do have the osteopathic adjustments to relax the areas in the 1st,
2nd and 3rd cervical, in the 6th dorsal, and in the lumbar axis.
7. Do these and we should bring help for this body.
8. Ready for questions.
9. (Q) Is any of this trouble due to allergy?
(A) Some of it is due to allergy, but what is allergy? These are the
effects of the imagination upon any influences that may react upon the
olfactory or the sympathetic nerves. If we will cleanse the system, as
we find, we should bring better conditions. Do the things indicated here.
10. (Q) What mental factor is responsible for the disturbance in the
subject's head?
(A) Those pressures, as indicated, between sympathetic and cerebrospinal
system, and these arise from the condition in the colon. X-ray it [the
colon] and you'll find it.
11. We are through with this reading.

Time of Reading
10:45 to 11:00 A. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Maryland.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Colonel [3329]. (Mighty easy to tell
him what he is doing!)
3. In analyzing the conditions here, we find that there are many things
to be taken into consideration - the activities, the thoughts and the purposes.
To most individuals these oft appear to be things apart, but when there
is a disturbance of the nature existing here these must all be taken into
consideration if there would be real relief for the body.
4. For, when there are any types of headaches (and they may arise from
many sources) there is distress somewhere in the physical being of the
body that is the source of the cause of same. One may have a type of headache
from a stomach ailment, another may be from poor digestion or poor eliminations;
and these apparently cause pressures in varied portions of the head - or
the reflex nerves of the brain center itself.
5. Here we have a type that is sometimes called migraine, or that really
means "we don't know the source of same."
6. In this particular body we find the combination of disturbances.
These are more severe when there is an overanxiety about any emotional
influence in the experience (in this body), whether conscious or unconscious,
or in those periods when something aggravates the body in its mental activity.
These arise, then, from a condition existing in this body bordering on
the pancreas, on the activity of the spleen upon the body.
7. When such conditions occur, the body will find, by the application
of the hand on the body that there is a cold area just across the diaphragm,
as compared to the rest of the body.
8. The expression in the nerve reflexes we find associated with certain
ganglia in the cerebrospinal system, where the sympathetic nerves and the
nerves of the central nervous system coordinate. In this particular body,
these occur from the 6th to the 8th dorsal. These, then, are the areas
where stimulation is needed for the association or coordination, for the
relieving of those reflexes, or those pressures that cause reflexes in
the brain centers themselves; so as to relieve these tensions in this body.
9. But the sources of these pressures arise from the conditions in the
colon and in the caecum area.
10. Then, in going about to remove these pressures, - we would have
osteopathic treatments and colonic irrigations. Because these conditions
have been existent with the body for a long period, there will be required
a series of these treatments periodically - if we would keep these coordinations
in the areas to prevent the reacting upon reflexes of the nerve forces
that cause these disturbances for the body.
11. Remove these pressures in the colon by high colonic irrigations.
Keep these up, though it may bring on a mild attack during the first or
second period. Keep these up until all of the mucous is entirely removed,
for this is the source of the pressure - in a part of the caecum area.
These colonics in the beginning should be given not more than fifteen days
apart, until five or six have been given. And these must be scientifically
given, not a "slap dab" job. For, these are conditions where the special
areas in the caecum center are to be purified.
12. Continue also occasionally to relax and stimulate the centers in
the cerebrospinal system that supply nerve energies to the areas through
pancreas and the spleen area as it connects with same along the whole alimentary
canal, to the areas outlined. These treatments should be given osteopathically
or neuropathically, and be given about twice a week until ten or twelve
have been given. Then they may be made farther apart. Or go for two or
three weeks without any, an then
have another series.
13. Do these and we should stimulate the activity to refrain from these
headaches. For, we will not only remove the causes but we will supply energies
from the body to replace these with normal reactions.
14. Of course, foods have their effect. Keep away from too much sweets,
or mixed fruits or candies - for this body.
15. In the activities mentally, keep optimistic - even when everything
goes wrong.
16. Do that.
17. Ready for questions.
18. (Q) Should this treatment be started right away?
(A) We would start the treatment in the early spring season, - as in
March and April. Remember, we all move by cycles, you see.
19. (Q) Does each body have its individual cycle?
(A) Each body has its individual cycle and vibration. Do these, and
we are going to find we will remove causes and have relief.
20. We are through with this reading.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3326].
3. As we find, while the body is in the developing stages, the sources
of the conditions to which the body becomes allergic in the digestive system
should be looked for - that deal with all migraine headaches.
4. So, this information might be used universally as to the sources
of such, if it would be accepted. For, here we find such in its beginnings,
and it is in the digestive system, causing - through a state of circulation
- an inflammation in the connections of the intestinal tract through which
blood and nerve supply bring nutriment and activity to these portions of
the body.
5. Thus these conditions taken in these beginnings may be eradicated
entirely from the system; but the taking of sedatives of any form only
adds fire to the condition. True, it may ease for the moment, but it requires
continued excesses of same that involve the gastric flow even of other
portions of the system. However, if the correct applications are made,
the causes of the condition may be removed.
6. Here, with this body, it would require sufficient colonic irrigations,
scientifically given, to keep the colon cleansed for a period sufficient
for reaction of the body energies themselves in supplying nutriment to
the folds in the colon itself.
7. This extends and becomes much more active in the jejunum (this is
speaking universally now, not in this individual case) but its beginnings
are in the area (as in this particular body) of the caecum - where the
jejunum empties into the colon for further digestion and absorption by
body forces.
8. Hence with this body, to be sure, throughout these periods keep away
from excesses of sweets, especially chocolate and any sedimentary forces
(such as brans or as raisins). Prunes will work just the opposite, for
these carry another form of activity to the walls of the system itself.
It would be well to include prunes in the diet, if they are cooked - or
even fresh. Plums of all natures, then, are very well to be taken.
9. Certain forms of apples are well, but most of these for this body
through these periods should be cooked.
10. Water cress, especially, should be taken - and these raw; including
celery and lettuce; at times carrots. All of these grated and combined
with the gelatin would be much better for the body.
11. Do drink plenty of water, at least six to eight glasses of water
each day.
12. Do have sufficient enemas, scientifically given, to cleanse all
mucous from the body. This may be done each time the colonic is given.
So put them about ten days to two weeks apart, and there should be required
at least four or five of these.
13. During that same period, relax the body osteopathically; with special
reference to reducing a lesion that exists between the 6th and 7th dorsal.
14. Do these, being mindful of the diet, and we will correct conditions
for this body. These are the sources of migraine headaches.
15. Ready for questions.
16. (Q) Is milk one of the foods that affects this condition? (She has
not had any for about six months, but I would like her to go back to it,
if possible.)
(A) Depends upon the combinations with which it is taken. If with wheat
germ, - that is, even puffed oats, puffed rice or puffed wheat, and wheat
germ with it, - milk may be taken; also with oatmeal that is cooked a long
time, not the oats cooked only a few minutes - that isn't very good for
anyone. These are much better if they are of the whole grain and not rolled
or so treated chemically as to cause them to cook easily. These whole grain
cereals may be taken with milk in same.
17. (Q) Are the attacks due to some emotional reaction?
(A) We have given as to what are the sources. If there will be done
these things outlined, you can correct the condition. If you keep taking
shots or pills, you will have it the rest of your life.
18. We are through with this reading.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [3325].
3. Here, as we find, there are incoordinations between the eliminating
channels of the body. Often the poisons that should be eliminated through
alimentary canal have become part of the eczema condition; not true eczema
but a rash over portions of the body that becomes very terrifying and irritating.
4. These conditions are gradually causing torpidity in the liver, and
also a kidney disturbance. Thus we have painful joints, pain in the extremities
and even in the muscular forces of the back, the shoulders and neck. This
is a form or type of neuritis, or the inflammation of the nerves, by the
pressure of the toxic forces and poisons that are being carried on through
the circulatory system.
5. Also these conditions, as indicated at times, cause accumulations
about those centers and in the active principles of the organs of the sensory
system. Hence, unless great changes are made, there will come hindrances
to the sense of smell, of hearing, and pains in the eyes, and affecting
the taste and the like. These are conditions respecting which the body
should be warned. Thus the character or nature of changes that should be
brought about.
6. Three days each week, for at least an hour each day, we would apply
hot Castor Oil Packs over the liver and the caecum area. These should extend
along the right side from the area close in the crotch on the right side,
up over the area of the ascending colon, and to the area over the liver.
Apply these warm and then apply an electric pad, low heat.
7. On the evening of the third day, after the third Pack has been used,
take internally at least a tablespoonful of Olive Oil. Then rest. Follow
this procedure for three consecutive days each week, for at least three
to four weeks.
8. Of course, this will irritate the condition through the skin area.
Powder the skin with stearate of zinc powder carrying balsam. This will
keep down irritation.
9. After the second or third week it will begin to disappear, as the
system is cleansed.
10. After the third week (not before) have a high colonic irrigation
scientifically or professionally given. For such colonics, use a salt and
soda solution, the proportions being a heaping teaspoonful of table salt
and a level teaspoonful of baking soda thoroughly dissolved in a gallon
of water body temperature. In the last gallon of rinse water dissolve at
least a tablespoonful of Glyco-Thymoline.
11. Then we would begin taking Mullein Tea, prepared in this manner:
In an enamel or glass container (as a china teapot or the like) put one
dram (by weight) of dried Mullein, and pour a pint of boiling water over
it. Let this set for at least thirty minutes. Then strain off and drink
at least a quarter of a pint of it each day.
12. In the diet, - do not take certain of combinations. Do not eat potatoes
and white bread and such, at the same meal. No two of such things should
be taken at the same meal. Do not take citrus fruits and cereals at the
same meal, though both of these should be taken - but not on the same day.
13. Do have plenty of sea foods. These should include shell fish as
well as other fish, however, but those that have excessive quantities of
iodine (as sea foods) that may be absorbed through the system for better
glandular circulation.
14. Occasionally, - that is, two mornings in succession each week (and
the same two mornings each week), take internally one drop of Atomidine
in half a glass water before breakfast.
15. Do these and we will find bettered conditions for this body.
16. Ready for questions.
17. (Q) What can be done for bad scalp condition (which doctors do not
seem to be able to diagnose - which is also very uncomfortable under the
nails on both hands and feet).
(A) These applications as we have indicated are to take care of the
whole condition existent with the body. For the specific irritation in
head or scalp, apply locally the DDD prescription to allay the itching.
18. We are through with this Reading.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3169].
3. There is a great deal of disturbance in the physical forces of the
body, that causes quite an aggravation to the body. Yet as we find, if
there would be a change in attitude of the body toward life and its relationships
to things around it, we might find a great deal of difference.
4. To be sure, these are pathological conditions; and, of course, there
can oft be made a great deal of excuse for anyone suffering with intense
headaches; especially those as here - that involve the 5th nerve; or as
they become what are called migraine headaches.
5. We find that these areas primarily form disturbances in the cerebrospinal
system, that - through a long period of time - have builded up those conditions
which, with any aggravation to the imaginative or sympathetic nervous system,
discharge, as it were, superabundance of energies that cause the pressures
on the side and through portions of the temple and the head nerves themselves.
6. Hence the correct mental and spiritual attitude, as has been suggested,
would be most necessary if we were to rid the body of these disturbances.
7. Not merely saying "I would be patient, I would be kind, I would show
kindness, brotherly love and patience," but BEING such in the relationships
to every form of condition that arises, or with every individual, in the
experience of the body.
8. We would also use mechanical means, osteopathically administered;
in attempting to stimulate any center by a gentle relaxing of the centers
especially where there are the greater connections
between sympathetic and cerebrospinal systems; as in the coccyx area,
4th lumbar, 9th, 10th and
11th dorsal, brachial centers 1st, 2nd and 4th dorsal - and throughout
the cervical area RELAX the body.
9. We would give those at least twice a week.
10. Soon after each osteopathic treatment is given relax the body thoroughly
with the use of the Radio-Active Appliance. When this is attached, let
this be used by the body as its period of meditation and prayer. These
should not be merely words but experienced within self, experience them
to DO them!
11. FATHER, GOD! HERE AM I, SEEKING TO KNOW THY WAY WITH ME, AND HOW
I - AS THY SERVANT - MAY DO AND BE THAT THOU WOULD HAVE ME BE. USE ME,
OH, GOD, AS THY SERVANT, AS THY OWN CHILD. FOR, I SEEK AND CLAIM THE RELATIONSHIP
PROMISED IN JESUS, THE CHRIST.
12. And do it! Not merely by the repeating of these words, but analyze
thy life. And we will find that the use of every form of those things that
have been helpful will change, and not be as necessary in the body.
13. When it is necessary to use the injections for the headaches, for
the first few months, do so. They are not habit forming unless the body
wholly, solely, depends on same.
14. The lenses for the eyes would be well to keep when necessary to
use the eyes the more.
15. Ready for questions.
16. (Q) What is suggested for difficulty with eliminations?
(A) Just use those things indicated and add to the diet more fresh
fruits and fresh vegetables whenever practical and possible. To be sure,
occasionally it will be well to use a laxative; not so much a cathartic
as a laxative. But with the corrections, these should become less and less
necessary for the body.
17. We are through with this reading.

Time of Reading
4:05 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Maryland.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3148].
3. As we find, there are many conditions that are very good with this
body, but there are those tendencies which cause at times a great deal
of anxiety to the body.
4. These we find really point back to the time of or following the delivery
of a baby - not a baby just at present - but at those periods when there
were not the proper precautions taken as should have been. Pressures still
exist in the areas just between the kidneys and the lower pelvic organs.
Thus that tired heaviness at times which comes to
the lower limbs if standing any length of time.
5. With those changes that are beginning, these have brought about pressures
that produce those types of headaches that become very oppressive. They
vary occasionally. At times a good deal of nausea accompanies same. At
others a pressure upon the top of the head and to various portions of the
body as though it were throbbing or thumping throughout the whole body.
These, as we find, are the basic disturbances.
6. The blood supply is very good, only seldom is there variation as
to the pressure and the quickening of the pulse. These tend to be heavy
at times with the slowing of the pulse, which is a natural consequence
of the changes beginning to take place with the body. Hence the flushes
at times and the heaviness, especially in the soles of the feet and the
limbs that give way to such disturbance.
7. It is within the nerves, of course; the glandular force and the nerve
pressure from those subluxations existing in the lower dorsal and the lumbar
areas.
8. These we would correct osteopathically.
9. But most of the assimilations we would relieve with hydrotherapy
treatments, that is, we would take at least six to eight of the osteopathic
adjustments, first, with special reference being given to the lumbar and
sacral area, coordinating the upper dorsal and cervical with same. This,
to be sure, is somewhat in reverse to the way many such treatments would
be given, but will be found to be much more effective, if the corrections
are made in the lumbar and sacral and then the other areas upward coordinating
with same.
10. Also it would help to keep better eliminations for the body regularly.
These may be controlled best, as we find, for this particular body by the
diet. So include often in the diet watercress, okra - the activities as
of "grasses" (so called) or celery, lettuce, carrots and the like. These
may be grated or cut very fine and used with mayonnaise or an oil dressing;
not to "burn out" with same as some might do, but change them as to their
usage, and we shall find it will change the general elimination and increase
the strengthening of the body, relieving those tensions that cause pressures
to the head and to the secondary nervous system of the body.
11. These should aid also in making much easier those periods approaching.
12. In the hydrotherapy treatments which should be given once a week,
have a mild sweat preferably with the Fume Bath rather than the Dry Heat.
This may be done by putting a teaspoonful of Withchhazel in a pint of boiling
water, in the container under the body while sitting in the cabinet. This
should be followed by thorough rubbing down. with this combination of oils:
Usoline, or Nujol............4 ounces,
Peanut Oil...................2 ounces,
Olive Oil....................2 ounces.
13. Shake these three together and massage while the body still has
the pores open from the fume Bath, into the spine, across the abdomen,
around the head, the neck, and along the centers of the spinal system.
Massage all the body will absorb; not just to be "pecked at" (nor yet to
be rubbed so as to become irritated), but so there is radial activity and
absorption from the food values to nerves, the centers and ganglia.
14. And these will bring for the body much improved conditions.
15. Ready for questions.
16. (Q) Should I continue taking Epsom Salts to flush the system, or
would you suggest something better?
(A) As we find, when this is necessary, Sal Hepatica would be better,
or Eno Salts.
17. (Q) Would it be better to discontinue doing office work, or does
this have any bearing on the headaches?
(A) This, as we find, does not necessarily have a bearing on the headaches.
These are more from those conditions indicated.
18. (Q) Should any particular foods be avoided or stressed in the diet?
(A) Stress the raw foods as indicated, especially water cress, beets,
carrots. Avoid macaroni, and white potatoes. That character of food should
be avoided.
19. (Q) What causes the occasional rash on neck and face?
(A) This is from the effects of lack of balance in the eliminations
through regular channels. When there is acidity and not sufficient elimination
through the alimentary canal, poisons are indicated in the superficial
circulation.
20. (Q) Why does the left ear so often itch, and what can be done to
improve hearing in that ear?
(A) The massages and the corrections, with the general health improved,
should improve these conditions, for these are from nerves along the general
system, rather than conditions within the organs of the head themselves.
That is why the variation in the directions given for the osteopathic corrections
in the lumbar and sacral and then the coordinating of the upper dorsal
and cervical. These are the direct connections, though sympathetically,
from the third cervical to the lumbar and sacral areas. These are the areas
that cause those distortions in the supply of nerve as well as blood and
lymph energy to the organs of the sensory system.
21. (Q) Do I have migraine?
(A) No, not true migraine.
22. (Q) Should the hydrotherapy be begun when the osteopathic treatments
are begun?
(A) Should be begun, for as indicated these should be part and parcel,
or work one with the other.
23. (Q) What produced the headaches in childhood?
(A) Stomach, and the connection with the organs of the stomach with
those that are in distress at present from the suppressions. Do these things
and we shall bring better conditions for this body.
24. We are through for the present.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present
time with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions,
as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before. As we find,
there are many changes which we have been and are good, and there are improvements
in the general physical forces. There are conditions which apparently are
not so well. There is lacking in the administrations given of coordinating
the centers where the cerebrospinal and sympathetic make their greater
connection to the organs of the sensory system, and thus the vision has
apparently at times grown worse rather than growing better.
3. We would, then, change in the present the type of administration.
The cleansing of the body has been very well but put these now about once
each month, through the manipulations as through the hydrotherapy, but
put self under the supervision or direction of a good osteopath who makes
special adjustments for the organs of the sensory system, through the dorsal
and the cervical areas, from which the eyes, ears, nose take their impulses
from the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal system. These adjustments will
not only clear the conditions to the eyes but will also make for better
conditions in coordination in throat and in ears. Do that.
4. Ready for questions.
5. (Q) What is the best diet for this body?
(A) Now that which is a well balanced diet. But often use the raw vegetables
which are prepared with gelatin. Use these at least three times each week.
Those which grow more above the ground then those which grow below the
ground. Do include, when these are prepared, carrots with that portion
especially close to the top. It may appear the harder and the less desirable
but it carries the vital energies, stimulating the optic reactions between
kidneys and the optics.
6. (Q) What is the spiritual and mental opportunity I have to demonstrate
more perfect vision as related in the physical reading?
(A) Here these, as we find, should have been corrected rather than
allowing a stimulation that has hindered. The demonstration to be made
is better cooperation in body, mind and spirit or soul of the entity. Thus,
as has been given: Definite decisions in self as to attitudes towards all
activities of body, mind and purpose, or the choosing of the ideals. In
choosing same for the body, don't trust to the memory, don't trust to the
thinking that "this I believe," for you change it often, but write it down:
Body. Mind. Soul. Begin with the soul, what is thy ideal? The answer must
be within self and of Jesus, the Christ. This, to be sure, is first, last
and always.
Then, what is the ideal mentally? This should be:
How much meditation, how much application, how much appreciation. These,
as we find, may be subdivided or, as changes come each day, rub out and
change. What is the mind and the spirit as referred to body ideal? See
the body perfect
in vision, in thought, in purpose. This is now the purpose of physical,
not purpose of the mental. What is the ideal relationship which should
exist between self, home, friends, activities in relation to things as
well as conditions, as well as experiences? Change these as there is unfoldment
in the study of thine own self.
7. (Q) What can be done for elimination now and will condition be cured
permanently?
(A) These can be changed a great deal by the diets as indicated: Raw
foods often, as the foods which tend towards better eliminations; figs;
pie plant (this prepare in the different forms) senna leaves, senna pods,
all of these may be parts of the diet at various periods. We will find
as the
ideals are set, what are thy ideal eliminations? Once a day, twice
a day or the activities of the liver, activities of kidneys, the activities
of digestion and assimilation and the drosses which should be eliminated.
Do not lay such a great stress on these that you find mind applying self
as, "I can't do this and I can't do that or I can't do the other" but being
rational and normal in keeping with conditions which develop.
8. (Q) Has colon healed since there is still soreness?
(A) Colon is a great deal better but when those corrections are made
the more perfectly through the areas indicated, we will find there will
still be better conditions. Do have the irrigations occasionally. These
purify the body. Do have, though, in the same better activities as to be
antiseptically bettered when these are finished.
9. (Q) What can be done for weak arches that causes such exhaustion
and painful callouses under feet and on sides of both big toes?
(A) These, as we find, should have the manipulations or adjustments
by the same period and at the same period as these adjustments for the
organs of the sensory system. Do that.
10. (Q) Should there be any change in the treatments now?
(A) Read what has been given, there is a change.
11. (Q) Has balance to body been restored yet?
(A) If it had we'd be in perfect balance. Ye grow to these.
12. (Q) Gum condition in upper left eyetooth not responded yet, should
it be extracted?
(A) Keep up the treatments with the use of the Ipsab and these we will
find will respond. There is, however, at times, not always leakage; that
is, pressure. We wouldn't remove yet until there has been more of the use
of and the attitude, "If I need it, it'll heal it."
13. (Q) Is pivot tooth causing receding of gums in tooth next to it?
(A) This is only partially. Some acidity in the salivary glands causes
most of the receding. Thus the suggestion for the use of the Ipana and
the Ipsab for the gums and teeth.
14. (Q) Are dead teeth injurious to this body?
(A) Dead teeth are injurious.
15. (Q) Is aspirin as good as anything to take for migraine and am I
working out of this condition?
(A) It is good as any but when we remove entirely the conditions through
the colon we will have less and less of the headaches; for this is not
true migraine.
16. (Q) How much water does this body need?
(A) Depends upon necessity, the diet and activities in the body's influence
in sun or the like. Six to ten glasses each day is not too much.
17. (Q) Is tinting the hair injurious in any manner?
(A) No. Not unless there is used the character which carries chemicals
that are injurious to the scalp. You haven't yet.
18. We are through with this reading.

Time of Reading

1. GC: You will answer the questions regarding this body as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3051]; this we have had before.
3. As we find, there are improvements in many ways in the physical forces
of this body. The applications that have been made through the hydrotherapy
treatments have been well, and in accord with that given.
4. There are doubts and fears (that have been submerged in physical
expression) finding manifestation in the physical being in self, and these
must be met as they are indicated in the body. But do not become impatient
with self nor the lack of those materializations at once of those hopes
in the body. For ye grow in grace, in knowledge and in understanding. Where
it has taken years to produce a fear, a doubt, an activity that begins
to find manifestation in the twitching of a muscle, in the expansion of
a vein, in the frustrations in the body forces, - be patient, be quiet
within; and we will find those administrations that have been made - and
that may be made - will aid thee in growing in the right directions.
5. For ye are made body, mind, soul. They each have their part in thy
oneness, or they are one; as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is one. Yet each
may function independently of the other - as the Son manifested in the
earth could have, by choice, NOT gone the whole way.
6. As ye put thy trust, thy faith in Him, so in thy body, thy mind,
thy soul, ye may not go astray save by choice. Keeping in the faith and
in the way called straight, ye will come to a completeness, to a oneness
of purpose in Him.
7. Ready for questions.
8. (Q) Are treatments being given correctly, if so why weren't results
not attained; explain fully. Reilly asks if adjustment is necessary?
(A) Had these not been necessary they would not have been indicated.
They ARE necessary. Have these made osteopathically, not in the same places
as the hydrotherapy treatments; that is go to an osteopath, see?
9. (Q) Is that part of colon which hemorrhages ulcerated and how can
normal elimination be established so that this condition may heal permanently,
is this possible or would an operation help or will cathartics have to
be resorted to for life?
(A) As indicated these fears and doubts become localized. In this particular
instance, to correct these conditions, we would use a compound prepared
in this manner. This is merely added and is not to do away with any of
those things suggested for the body.
To four ounces of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin add
- in the order named:
A Fusion of Wild Ginseng....................1 ounce,
(It would be made by putting one dram of the Ginseng, ground or mashed,
in two ounces of distilled water and reducing by simmering to one ounce.
Strain and add to the Elixir.)
A Fusion of Wild Ginger (made in the same manner)...........................1/2
ounce.
Shake the solution before it is to be taken. Take
one teaspoonful each day for five days. Then leave off for five days. Then
take again, and again. And by the third series you should have taken the
whole quantity and should find the condition corrected - provided the other
treatments have been carried forward as indicated.
10. (Q) Why are veins in legs and feet becoming prominent, especially
in left calf, what treatment follow?
(A) This is not a great change. This is part imagination. But these
should disappear if the corrections are made osteopathically as indicated,
in the lumbar and sacral and at the head of the sciatic centers. Take the
bicycle exercise also - this will be effective for the body.
11. (Q) What steps taken to restore usefulness of left thumb. Was tendon
sewed, explain?
(A) The massage of this daily with Sweet Oil or Camphorated Oil will
now prove the most helpful. Of course, this is where a tendon has been
not only pinched but has become in part atrophied. This will be aided,
not entirely restored, but may be used again. Keep using it; not as one
that you can't get along without; but every day or two before retiring,
massage it yourself for five to six minutes with the oil - just what it
will absorb. Extend this to the wrist and to the elbow and this will aid.
12. (Q) Gums and SORE BRIDGE not responded, why?
(A) If you'll keep up the treatments and the things suggested, they
will.
13. (Q) Give report on teeth and how keep them for life?
(A) Better go to the dentist to have much of this done! For this particular
body, these may be kept by the use of Ipsab occasionally as a massage for
the gums, and then taking care of those activities that are to supply sufficient
calcium to the body at the periods when cycles change.
Cycles change for the teeth during the second year
of each cycle. During that year take at least three to four series of Calcios
or its equivalent to supply calcium to the system, and it will aid not
only the teeth but all the activities of the thyroid glands.
14. (Q) Why did I have migraine attack on the 13th after so many treatments?
(A) These were a part of the experience. These should or will come
until the body, mind and soul are one in purpose.
15. (Q) Pain and tiredness in the eyes?
(A) Overtaxation. Taking the head and neck exercises regularly will
relieve this condition.
16. (Q) Will canichrome tablets I take restore color of hair?
(A) NO! If the juice of potato peelings is taken regularly (two or
three times a week) it will keep the hair nearer to its normal color than
all other forms of chemicalpreparations.
17. (Q) How eliminate dryness to hair and skin?
(A) Just as given, when there is a perfect condition in the scalp,
in the activities of the thyroid, by - keeping a correct balance, the oil,
the dryness, the color will be normal for the body. Don't try to make something
abnormal for self that should be this or that condition.
18. (Q) What preparations help keep firm muscles in face and neck?
(A) The Black and White are the better preparations for keeping muscles,
or the whole body, or the face, in the proper condition. These would be
used after a thorough cleansing with any good toilet soap, preferably that
prepared with Olive Oil, or Coconut Oil rather than other characters of
fats.
19. (Q) Explain meaning of my seal and why I have it, how benefit from
this?
(A) We haven't the seal, in this.
20. We are through for the present.

Time of Reading
3:45 to 4:15 P.M. Eastern War Time. ..., New York.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3051], present in this room.
3. Now, in analyzing disturbances that occur in this body, there are
many things to be taken into consideration.
4. Because there is a tendency towards a complication, do not understand
or interpret it to mean that there are a whole lot of things which disturb
the body that can't be corrected! Neither should the body get the idea
that, "Well, maybe they'll clear up themselves." For, rather, there are
tendencies and inclinations. And these, as we find, are brought on by very
definite disturbances in the body. They partake both of the mental and
the physical reactions.
5. Though the source of the disturbances is of the pathological or purely
physical nature, the reactions do disturb the mental AND physical coordinations
in the physical body.
6. These, then, are disturbances as we find them with this body, [3051],
present in this room:
7. First, in the blood supply - while there are some superficial disturbances
that are causing a distress to the circulation, these need only the palliatives
that may remove the acute superficial condition. Any good lotion would
be well for the sunburn; such as soda water, or any application that would
act as a balm, in the forms of some characters of oils that remove the
fire from the affected areas - such as Glyco-Thymoline.
8. But the general blood flow - the sources or causes or basic disturbances
are of a glandular nature. Thus they partake of sympathetic reactions that
have to do with the power of suggestive forces in the body, as well as
the functioning of organs themselves.
9. Thus we find these reactions in varied conditions that exist with
the body; besides that acute condition, a general reaction that indicates
the lack of proper coordination of the eliminating systems, or the lack
of proper coordinating in the superficial and the deep circulation to all
the organs of the sensory system, as well as those that act as a reflex
upon the assimilating bodies, - in the functioning of heart, liver, lungs
and kidneys.
10. These being the central blood supply, they each in their return
of activity in the exercising of those centers through the body, bring
those experiences in the lack of vitality, the lack of applying or absorbing
from that assimilated that necessary to create the more perfect balance
in the body-forces.
11. We do not find indicated a humor in the blood, nor that it is over-impoverished,
or that it carries too much of fats; but rather that there exists the unbalanced
condition - which according to a physicist's examination would indicate
the lack of coordinant activity in impulse for the reactions and the actual
facts that take place in the dominant forces of the body's activities.
12. In the nerve forces we find quite a variation as to their natural
reaction, as to the expression of same in the sensory organs of the body,
as well as in the eliminations, the locomotion, and the impulses that would
become involuntary or voluntary reactions through nerve systems of the
body. Also we find the disturbances that are natural from an upsetting
of the equilibrium between the superficial circulation and the deeper organic
reaction. These are indicated through nerve tensions.
13. As to the activity of the organs themselves, - we find that the
abilities for discernments are indicated, and the proper coordinating and
reacting to determined rules of activity. Yet these at times, through the
suggestive forces of the subconscious as well as the conscious reactions,
bring
disputations in self as to whether this or that would be the best course
to pursue.
14. These also find the ability to draw from impoverishment to the assimilated
forces, by an unbalanced condition throughout the body.
15. Then, in indicating that which we find would not only correct but
eliminate the disturbing conditions in the body-physical, - these we would
suggest for this body:
16. First begin with those elements that are needed for the purifying
of the glandular system and for the eliminating of poisons from the system
- as these tend to increase or to segregate or to bring these disturbing
factors to their reflective or relative reactions in the physical body.
17. These we would take in the form of ATOMIDINE. Take one minim (one
drop) each morning before breakfast, in half a glass of water, for five
days.
18. Leave it off one day.
19. Then take two drops each morning for five days.
20. THEN - not before - begin with hydrotherapy applications, and at
a period when there would not be too much interference with the body carrying
these through for the period of at least eight or nine weeks.
21. Each hydrotherapy treatment should include a mild sweat followed
by a Fume Bath, using a teaspoonful and a half of Witchhazel for the Fumes
that would settle over the body while in the Cabinet.
22. Follow the fume Bath with a needle shower, or the hot and cold shower;
then a nice, or thorough, rubdown; using - for the massage - three parts
Russian White Oil (or Nujol, or
Usoline) to one part of Oil of Pine Needles. Begin at the area between
the first cervical area and the 3rd dorsal, especially; though, in every
other treatment, do have the relaxing from the first cervical to the end
of the spine.
23. When giving these massages, pay attention to the bursa of the feet,
ankles, under knee, and across the lower portion of the back.
24. These we would take for at least nine to ten treatments. One a week
should be sufficient.
25. And thus we will find we will eliminate sources of disturbance.
26. Do not confuse this by saying "We will take part and the other doesn't
have to be done." Either take it all or don't take any!
27. Have the two weeks of purifying the body, first; THEN begin the
hydrotherapy treatments.
28. And let the chemical changes that are wrought be provided by the
foods, rather than by supplementing even by certain vitamins, especially
through the warm weather; for these are much better assimilated from the
foods themselves.
29. Keep a balance by the use of those diets as related to the body.
Thus, the activities here would be mostly the leafy vegetables, leafy fruits
also - or those that are full of the energizing forces that are in the
correct combination for building resistances in the body.
30. After the thorough cleansing through the eliminations as indicated,
do take those things that add to the abilities of the body to store energy.
Thus, in the application of such, follow a very definite outline - that
may be made by self - in its relationships to the spiritual, mental and
physical being of the body.
31. Do those things, consistently, and we will find we will bring the
better forces for this body, eliminating much that in the present does
cause anxiety physically, that produces at times that which becomes physically
a reaction not desirable by the body.
32. And apply these in the life, in the dealings with others; keeping
that faith in Him, who is the source of light, life and immortality. And
we will find we will bring bettered conditions for the body.
33. For these applications we would use such an one as Reilly.
34. Ready for questions.
35. (Q) What will relieve the eyestrain?
(A) First, a purifying of the glandular forces; then the abilities
of the body to assimilate, as provided with the massage especially as indicated
in the upper or central cervicals, extending to the areas indicated, should
remove the eyestrain. This is more of a reflex nature, not as of the imagination
- no. For, definite urges are aroused, and thus confusion to the reactions
occurs.
36. (Q) Will I be able to leave off glasses then?
(A) After there have been at least three or four of the first series
of the osteopathic treatments, - that is, the relaxings that are to take
place at every other hydrotherapy treatment, - leave off the glasses; and
we will find there will not be the necessity for returning to them for
years yet. For, you have a job to do! You have an opportunity in thy spiritual
and mental life. Use same. Don't use such opportunities as excuses, or
as something to gloat over, to glory about. The GLORY is to God, then the
honor will be to self.
37. (Q) How may I eliminate stiffness in back of neck and joints?
(A) This, as indicated, is from the lack of coordination between superficial
and deeper circulation. The massages, following the purifying forces, will
eliminate this - after the first of the hydrotherapy treatments.
38. (Q) How can I eliminate the buzz in my ears, caused by catarrhal
condition?
(A) This is a part of the general disturbance. There's a great deal
less catarrhal condition than there is incoordination between superficial
and deeper circulation. And as equilibrium is established by purification
of the glandular forces, by the second or third of the massages or the
hydrotherapy and massage treatments, we should find this disappearing.
First there will be the feeling, "It doesn't hurt as much as it used to."
Then, "Well, it's come back again - I don't know whether it's any good
or not!" Then, if you will follow it on out, well, "I've forgotten I ever
had it!"
39. (Q) Have trouble with the gums bleeding, and the lower left bridge?
(A) When these purifications are brought about, these conditions will
disappear. For local disturbance, use Ipsab as a massage for gums; using
this just three times a week. Then use any good dentifrice, preferably
that of the same combinations of Ipsab, but without the iodine in same
- Ipana.
40. (Q) Receding of gums in upper right side? eye tooth?
(A) Just as given - use the Ipsab.
41. (Q) Migraine?
(A) This is from the incoordination between superficial and deeper
circulation. We have covered this. If these things indicated will be done,
we will rid the body of these conditions. Do that.
42. (Q) What should be done to improve the menstrual periods?
(A) All of these have been covered in that indicated here. Do these
things, and we will find - by the second or third - the body will feel
a great deal better. But keep these up for at least six to eight - that
is, that means that many weeks of taking these, in succession, you see.
And keep cool - that doesn't mean physically, but mentally. And ye will
see the glory of the Lord. But use that strength that is given thee as
a helpful force to others. It will satisfy, and bring contentment - though
never be satisfied with the conditions about self. Be content, but never
merely satisfied. Do these.
43. We are through for the present.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3047].
3. As we find, there are inclinations that may become very serious.
For these are disturbances in the central circulation; that is, that deeper
circulation as related specifically to lungs, heart, liver and kidneys.
And these show irregularity, which is indicated by that irregular condition
in the pressure, a condition that at times - though as yet this occurs
only under stress - causes the skipping in the heart beat; upsetting in
the digestion, and the lack of those abilities or tendencies towards lack
of breathing deep enough.
4. Thus at times the lungs in part are left with the lack of proper
oxidization of the whole of the blood stream; tiredness occurs at times;
heaviness across the small of the back, just below the kidneys at times;
the lack of proper assimilation of foods, and the lack of the proper combinations
in the lactic acids, or the combination of alkalines and acids.
5. The lacteal circulation, then, is inadequate for the proper assimilation
of foods.
6. Thus at times there is a good deal of belching, at others some uncomfortableness
across the area of the diaphragm, and a heaviness at times in the lower
portion of the alimentary canal.
7. The headaches that ensue from these are of the dull character; the
eyes burn at times; also there is the bad taste in the mouth.
8. These, as we find, are the sources, and those tendencies and inclinations
in the body, [3047].
9. We find that these would bring about much better conditions:
10. As a balance in the digestive forces, rather than the character
of acids taken in the present, we would take ACIGEST; a teaspoonful in
raw milk every other day, preferably at the evening meal. This will be
better assimilated.
11. Also we would add a small quantity of CALCIOS three times a week,
as a stimulator for the calcium content of the body-forces, adding much
to the abilities of the body to assimilate and eliminate properly. Take
just the quantity that would be required to spread on a whole wheat cracker,
thinly, and eat it - with the cracker, you see. This is the better manner
for the assimilation.
12. Also we would have at least eight to ten GENERAL osteopathic treatments,
with special reference given to the areas in the upper dorsal and through
the cervicals, and at the lumbar axis - or 4th lumbar, and through the
sacral. These should be relaxing treatments, rather than stimulating treatments.
13. Do not have these until there is the beginning of the taking of
the ACIGEST and the CALCIOS internally. This will enable these to assimilate
or to work better with the activity of these properties upon the body.
14. Then the matter of the diet:
15. Do not take ANY carbonated waters, or carbonated drinks of any kind.
16. A little apple brandy (but a good brandy, not Applejack) made as
a toddy occasionally will be beneficial. This should be taken AT the meals,
as medicine, not as a drink.
17. Do not take ANY of the drinks made with carbonated waters, or those
prepared from hops. These are bad for conditions that exist, and the tendencies
through alimentary canal.
18. The foods that are of the nature of leafy vegetables, both raw and
cooked, are preferable to those of the tuberous nature; though carrots
- both raw and cooked - are well. Potatoes should be very sparse, not more
than once or twice a week.
19. Other leafy vegetables - the tops of beets, especially, - are good;
water cress in salads is excellent for the body.
20. These will tend to aid, especially, the superficial circulation.
21. As to meats, use plenty of sea foods (not fresh water fish), fowl
and lamb. No hog meat, nor any other type of meat; though a little crisp
breakfast bacon may be taken occasionally.
22. Eggs should be a part of the diet almost daily.
23. Do these, and we should find better conditions for this body.
24. Ready for questions.
25. (Q) Then I should discontinue the hydrochloric acid I've been taking?
(A) As we find, while ACIGEST is hydrochloric acid, it is prepared
in a manner that - as combined with the other things suggested here it
will work better with the body. So we would change to this.
26. We are through for the present.

and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. As we find, there are conditions that prevent the better physical
functioning of the body. These are rather a complication of disturbances.
4. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [3043]:
5. From the effects of a deep cold, combined with some intestinal disorder,
there has been produced inflammation that has upset the coordination between
the lymph circulation and the central circulation, also the nerve impulses.
6. So, we find a great deal of trouble through the intestinal tract;
forming gas in the lower portion of the duodenum after almost each meal,
a great deal of discomfort, and the reflexing of these to the circulation
between the heart, liver and lungs.
7. At other periods through the lower portion of the abdomen, and through
the liver area, there are tendencies for contractions.
8. These, we find, are the sources - and the disturbances with this
body.
9. In the blood supply irritations are produced at times, oft, to the
superficial circulation - areas on various portions of the body, extremities
as well as the torso itself, becoming irritated; while we find an irregularity
to the circulation or to the pulsation itself. There is a great deal of
disturbance in the soft tissue of face, head, neck. Also this disturbance
between the lymph and the impulses as supplied by nerve forces of the circulation
of the blood force in varied areas through the body. Especially over the
abdomen these produce cold areas, even to the touch; showing the irregularity
of the circulation.
10. As we find, all of these disorders, and the effects that have been
produced in the functionings of the varied systems of activity in the body,
should be taken into consideration in making applications that would prove
the more beneficial for this body.
11. First, we would take internally a preparation made in this manner:
12. To 2 ounces of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin as the base, we would add:
A fusion of Wild Ginseng...................1 ounce,
A fusion of Wild Ginger..................1/4 ounce.
Take a teaspoonful of this each evening when ready to retire.
13. Also, when this is begun, begin having at least once a week a mild
fume bath or sweat, using in the fumes Witchhazel.
14. Follow this with an ultra-violet light treatment, preferably with
the projection of the green glass between same and the body. Stay under
the light some ten to fifteen minutes, five minutes on the front side and
five on the back, or such a matter.
15. After the light treatment, have a thorough rubdown, preferably with
Peanut Oil.
16. Keep these in their regular order, being mindful of the diet.
17. Occasionally, when the hydrotherapy treatment is given, - say once
in twenty days, unless it is necessary oftener, - have a colonic irrigation.
Do use soda and salt in the first waters, in the proportions of a teaspoonful
heaping full of salt and a level teaspoonful of baking soda to each
gallon of water. In the last or rinse water injected, use a tablespoonful
of Glyco-Thymoline to the gallon of water, as an intestinal antiseptic.
These will prevent irritation, and these should rid the system of these
disturbances.
18. When there is acute pain through the abdomen, apply a Castor Oil
Pack. Use some three thicknesses of flannel, preferably old rather than
new flannel, well saturated with the Castor Oil, and apply directly to
the skin. This preferably as we find, in this case, would be applied over
the right side, extending from close under the ribs to almost the caecum
area. Then we would apply to this the electric pad, even though the Pack
should be put on hot. Let this remain on an hour.
19. DO NOT take any carbonated drinks of any kind. Carbonated waters
are not good.
20. DO use a good deal of sea food, a great deal of leafy vegetables,
and the character of foods that are body and blood building; as celery,
lettuce, radish, carrots, beets, beet tops, water cress, - all of these
should be taken quite often; not every day, to become tiresome for the
body, but these will be found to be most helpful.
21. Ready for questions.
22. (Q) What causes the migraine headaches?
(A) This is from the stomach. As we find, these applications should
get rid of a great deal of this disturbance.
23. We are through with this Reading.

1. HLC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2474].
3. Now as we find, there are many commendable conditions and reactions;
yet there are specific disturbances that cause great anxiety in the body-functioning
at times.
4. To be sure, from these effects there are other disturbances. These
have remained rather hidden, as they are of the nature as to arise occasionally
- hence under the stress produced they become hard to locate.
5. These are the conditions then, as we find them with this body, [2474]
we are speaking of:
6. In the blood supply we find very good reactions in most every form.
Yet in the effluvium there is indicated a form of fluor, or condition,
showing that there is a lack of thorough assimilation of that digested
by the body.
7. Hence, from the position, this produces in the nerve system those
pressures that cause the violent headaches, - which at times appear as
a partial paralysis of a side of the face; so that through the eye and
a portion even of the frontal brain center there appears rather the separate
or tangible movement. This is caused by such long pressures that have brought
about the nature of the disturbance itself.
8. In the nervous system, or systems, there are pressures that prevent
the coordination of the sympathetic and cerebrospinal centers as related
to that area from which the duodenum receives its impulse in nerve force
for the lymph and emunctory circulation at periods of assimilating the
gastric flow of the digestive system.
9. Thus we have the nerves of the hypogastric and pneumogastric center
as the area in which this lack of proper stimulation exists. This is in
the ganglia upon the left side at the junction of the 5th and 6th dorsal
center.
10. The reaction from this lack of coordination of impulse is to build
on the organs of assimilation, as controlled by the hypogastric and pneumogastric
center, what may be called a fullness - that bursts, as it were, upon the
activity of that portion of the jejunum, emptying from the pylorus into
the jejunum. To be sure, branches from this plexus (the pneumogastric and
hypogastric) are active to the liver, the gall duct, the spleen and the
pancreas, and the flow of the activity from the pylorus portion of the
stomach to and through the duodenum.
11. Hence a spasmodic condition is produced in the flow when the headache
is the most violent; though the area from which the impulse arises does
not suffer as does the reflex center from the brain TO the plexus that
controls the activity in the digestive system.
12. As to the general activity to the organs of the body, - owing to
the general stress in the nervous system, we do not find organically that
there is other than a sympathetic reaction in heart, liver or kidneys;
but all of these to be sure, under the great stress that arises, become
sympathetically involved. We find that the spleen and the flow of the excretions
through the gall duct DO have repression in their activity.
13. Then, these are the conditions as we find with this body, [2474]:
14. In meeting these conditions, many portions of the system's reaction
are to be taken into consideration. For, owing to the very nature and subtleness
of the reactions, it will require patience, persistence, and the proper
manner of THINKING; as well as the aid that may be given by others in aiding
the body to respond to all forms of nerve reflexes that have been so long
involved.
15. Hence we would give these rather as an outline, - and there will
be required a series of applications, with those properties that will aid
in "boosting", as it were, the gastric flow - until a proper coordination
may be established between the hypogastric and pneumogastric plexus as
coordinates with the ganglia in the cerebrospinal centers. And these centers,
too, need their stimulation.
16. We would begin taking with each meal a small quantity of Elixir
of Lactated Pepsin. Do not take more than four or five drops, in a little
water. Of course, a teaspoonful might be considered a dose, but it is the
reaction from this small quantity that is needed - with the activity of
the hypogastric BY the changes that are to be wrought with the impulses
created in the body-force itself.
17. Hence we would have the osteopathic adjustments with special reference
to the areas throughout the controlling of the assimilation and the flow
of that digested from the stomach, the duodenum AND the upper part of the
jejunum; or the area from the 4th dorsal to the 9th dorsal, with PARTICULAR
reference to the lesion at the 5th and 6th dorsal.
18. We would have at least six to ten of such adjustments osteopathically.
19. Then we would leave off the adjustments for a period of a week;
then we would have six to ten more, with special reference - then - to
coordinating ALL centers of the area from the lower portion of the stomach,
or from the 11th and 12th dorsal - then - to the 1st cervical.
20. To be sure, not JUST the cerebrospinal centers are to receive attention,
but the head and neck - though not so severe; more the side of the face
and the neck, at the upper portion of the 2nd and 3rd cervical. Then the
side of the face, the chin, the nasal passage - all of this is to receive
some attention.
21. The stimulating of the ganglia and the removal of the pressure by
proper adjustment in the 5th and 6th dorsal center, should bring relief
for this body.
22. At the beginning of the first rest period from the osteopathic treatments,
- that is, after the first six to ten adjustments have been made, - we
would start with the use of the vibration from hand therapy by an individual
who carries healing in his body and mind.
23. Let such an individual, for at least twenty minutes, every other
day, place his hands on the patient in this manner - right next to the
skin, you see, in direct contact with the body:
24. Sitting upon the left side of the body (so as to make the applications
easier), rub the hands well together, dry, and then place the right hand
(with the body lying prone, of course) over the 5th and 6th dorsal center
- next to the flesh itself - that is, under the spine at this area, see?
Then place the left hand over the gall duct and
lacteal duct plexus - which would be more on the right side of the body,
you see, opposite the navel - which controls the (lymph) activity of the
flow. And it will be found that this hand vibration will be beneficial
even under the periods of great stress. Of course, for some weeks - yes,
for a month or so - there will be recurrent spells with the headache, but
they will gradually lessen, if all of these applications are followed as
outlined; not just part, but all of that suggested.
25. Let these hand vibrations be applied by a healer for at least a
period of ten times in succession, - that is, every other day for at least
ten applications; or until the corrections have been made. But we would
not begin these until the first series of osteopathic treatments has been
completed, you see - so that there will be the better reactions.
26. Do these, and we will bring relief for this body.
27. Ready for questions.
28. (Q) What recommendations would you make as to diet for the body?
(A) These have been a part of the experiences of the body, and it has
reached those stages where it finds it is necessary to change rather regularly,
and to be rather specific as to diet. That which has been set as to its
order is not bad, and will be found to be much better as these changes
come about gradually, by the correction osteopathically and the change
in the gastric flow through taking the small quantities of Pepsin.
29. (Q) Would you recommend anyone for the healing work with the hands,
in connection with this case?
(A) One who is very close to the body. Such as [1662] would be VERY
good.
30. (Q) Is it understood correctly that [1662] has the necessary ability
to aid in this case?
(A) He has the necessary ability. Also he has the ability to direct
such applications by suggestion to the body so as to become a helpful influence.
31. (Q) Is there an osteopath you would recommend for this body?
(A) Any of those that are in sympathy with suggestions through these
sources. Such an one may be indicated or found through [1646], or some
may be indicated from here who are in sympathy with those applications
as outlined.
32. (Q) Any other suggestions at this time, either for the body or for
[1662] in giving the healing vibrations?
(A) Of course, the detailed suggestions needed here are more for the
one who makes the mechanical osteopathic adjustments. Let such an one follow
those directions outlined here. As to the applications to be made
by [1662], - be patient, be persistent, and be prayerful. For, we know
that in union there is strength.
33. We are through for the present.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present
time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions,
as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes - there are many changes in the general physical forces of
this body since last we had same here. Some have shown a great deal of
improvement, but there are tendencies in the present for the reverting
to those greater disturbances of old through the gall duct area.
3. As we find, we would have now the occasional application of the Castor
Oil Packs over the gall duct area; not too severe, but to relax those tendencies
for adhesions through these areas.
4. Also we would have about ten or twelve corrections, osteopathically
administered. Have them at least twice or three times a week for the first
six. These would be particularly in the area from the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th,
7th and 8th dorsals. Then relax the cervicals, of course; but the ADJUSTMENTS
would be in the dorsal areas indicated.
5. Take at least two tablespoonsful of Olive Oil a day. This possibly
would be much preferable if taken in small doses often through the day.
If there is a tendency for belching or regurgitation, reduce the quantity,
- but continue to take small quantities, even though it is only a few drops
every hour or two during the day, - until we get sufficient relaxation
from the adjustments as to bring bettered conditions for the body.
6. As to diet, - adhere closer to those things that were first indicated.
The tendencies to get away from some of these has also been a contributing
factor in making these regurgitations and reactions.
7. These should bring better forces for this body.
8. Ready for questions.
9. (Q) Are the brief sun baths daily, letting the sun shine on the bare
flesh in the gall bladder region, helpful?
(A) These are helpful if they are not overdone. But after the Oil packs,
make a gentle rubbing in the area, see, so that we may have the better
effect even of the sun bath, as well as the oil reactions.
10. (Q) Are the bending exercises occasionally that I take to stimulate
flow of bile helpful, or otherwise?
(A) These we would not take, if there is given the proper osteopathic
treatments. For these are a little bit severe, with the impulses being
worked against, see?
11. (Q) Does the gall bladder ailment cause the occasional migraine
headaches (though much lighter in pain than formerly)?
(A) It's the larger contributing factor, and with the better eliminations
these should be farther and farther apart.
12. (Q) Do the gall bladder attacks connect up in any way with an operation
or X-Ray treatments afterwards, of some two years ago?
(A) As has been indicated, there are adhesions caused from the tissue
treated too strongly, as well as part of operative forces.
13. (Q) How may I overcome the fear of pain and fears of many other
kinds that beset me when I suffer the gall bladder attacks?
(A) Only by the mental reaction to spiritual influences, as in Him
who maketh not afraid.
14. We are through with this Reading.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2078].
3. Now as we find, there is rather the complication of disturbances,
which prevent the better normal physical functioning.
4. These as we find have been of rather long standing, and have gradually
grown - from time to time - to be more disturbing, and are a part of those
disturbances which sometime ago caused a general nervous breakdown.
5. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2078]:
6. In some times back, there were some teeth that caused a disturbance.
Also there was a condition in the soft tissue of throat and nasal passages,
of a catarrhal nature.
7. These gradually caused the absorption, or the draining into the system,
of poisons.
8. Owing to a subluxation which exists in the upper dorsal areas (3rd
and 4th), the slowing of the circulation or impulses through the liver,
prevented the blood supply from taking care of these general excesses of
poisons. And the nerve reflexes reacting to same DID cause, and bring about,
a general nervous collapse.
9. In the present these same conditions have affected the area about
the liver and gall duct, and gall bladder, in such manners as to hinder
their proper reaction.
10. These find reflex reaction through the nerve pressures from the
areas in the cerebrospinal system as indicated, as combined with the nerve
flexure to head, nasal passage, and those areas in the whole of the vegetative
nerve force, - as to produce a continued reaction from digestive forces,
or a headache - that is called the migraine nature.
11. The addition of sedatives, or palliatives, will only - then - create
more drosses, so as to continue to produce - as does the disturbance in
the gall duct - the improper eliminations.
12. Hence toxic forces throughout the alimentary canal are gradually
bringing more and more, to those pressures created in the sympathetic nervous
system, the reflex in the muscular forces - first in one extremity and
then the other, or limb, or shoulder, or at times the head or face or back,
or hand, or various portions of the body, - in the form of neuritic reactions.
13. These, then, as we find, are the conditions to be reckoned with.
14. In the functioning of the system, the organs themselves have become
sympathetically involved; and yet, owing to the general system attempting
to keep active under the disturbed conditions, the body continues to keep
going.
15. Hence we have a liver disturbance, bad assimilation or digestion
at times; at times bad breath, at times conditions through the whole of
the alimentary canal of poor eliminations; excesses at times of activities
of the kidney and bladder, and at other times pains and distraughtness
and weakness.
16. And whenever there is the attempt to use an active force, as of
reading, or the use of the eyes, or any activity that would centralize
the activities, unless it is able to gather its strength by the associations
with numbers, it fatigues easily. Then after such an association or activity
in group,
or crowd, the body becomes especially fatigued.
17. As we find, then, in making the corrective forces for this body,
ALL of these conditions as indicated must be taken into consideration;
and the applications made in a consistent and persistent manner to work
not only towards the correcting and eliminating of the disturbances, but
toward the eradicating of the causes also.
18. As we find, while it may require a comparatively long period of
consistent and practical and personal applications, these conditions may
be eliminated, - if there is the consistent and persistent use of the applications
as may be suggested here.
19. Do not break over from the activities once begun, or in the administrations
as to diets, nor in the consistency of taking all of the things suggested;
else we may find relapses that would produce other disturbances, by the
very compound or complex conditions which exist.
20. First, then, begin with these as the first portion of the suggested
treatments:
21. Each day, after the heavier meal, whether it is noon or evening,
take a small dose - half a teaspoonful - of ALCAROID. First dissolve this
amount in a small quantity of water, then fill the glass with water and
drink, - then drink another glass of water afterwards.
22. At least twice each week - say Tuesdays and Thursdays - apply the
hot Castor Oil Packs over the liver and the gall duct and caecum area.
Use at least three thicknesses of flannel, of sufficient size to cover
the area over the liver, and extending down to the lower portion of the
groin on the right side and over to the middle portion of the abdomen.
Wring out the flannel in the hot Castor Oil and apply direct to the body,
covering it with cloth to prevent the messiness (for it's messy enough
in itself!), and then cover with oil cloth, putting an electric pad over
same. Allow this to remain on the body for at least an hour.
23. Then each week following the Packs - say, on Friday - take the CAROID
and BILE SALTS Tablets; one tablet after the morning meal, one tablet after
the noon meal, TWO tablets after the evening meal.
24. The next day - even with the flushing that this may give - after
the bowels have flushed - take a colonic irrigation. This is to cleanse
the colon of the poisons that will have been as accumulations in the system
from the use of such applications.
25. After the third week of using these applications - in the manner
indicated - rest for about three days; that is, leave off the application,
see?
26. Then begin with the use of the Radio-Active Appliance, to give quietude
and stamina to the general nervous system. Use it about an hour each day,
as the body rests, and circulate the attachments about the body in the
manner as ordinarily indicated for same. Use regularly for a period of
a week to ten days, then leave off a few days, - then begin again - and
so on. This will bring great quietude and rest to the body, equalizing
the whole nervous system.
27. At the same time the Radio-Active Appliance is begun, begin with
the osteopathic adjustments to correct the subluxations which exist specifically
in the 3rd and 4th dorsal, as well as loosening or stimulating the ganglia
from that area to the base of the head, as well as in the coccyx area and
in the lumbar and the 9th dorsal. These would be given twice each week,
until at least ten such treatments have been given.
28. Now, as to the diet:
29. Through the period that the first applications are being made, use
a great deal of liquid and semi-liquid foods. Plenty of fruit juices. Plenty
of vegetable juices, - both raw and cooked.
30. Have a great deal of soups, - as from wild game, or vegetables,
or even beef broth, mutton broth and the like.
31. No hog meat at any time.
32. Cereals - as the cracked whole wheat (cooked a long time), the combinations
of wheat and barley (as in Maltex), and the rolled oats and steel cut oats
- all of these should be a principal portion of the diet.
33. Sweets should be mostly honey, and not cane sugar.
34. Do these, - and then when there is the beginning of the Radio-Active
Appliance, and the osteopathic applications, the diet may be changed to
more of the vegetables themselves, and fish, fowl and lamb. These then
may become the greater part of the diet.
35. But keep the flushing of the system for the better eliminations;
and we will bring for this body near to normal conditions.
36. Ready for questions.
37. (Q) Is the gall bladder or liver condition serious?
(A) It may become so, as we have indicated, unless measures are taken
for the correction of same.
38. (Q) Do the occasional traces of blood when I vomit (during migraine
attacks) mean anything?
(A) Just that as we have indicated, - the disturbance of the liver
and the gall duct area. It's the straining, of course, and is more from
the throat, and not a hemorrhage from the stomach at all.
39. (Q) Should I take more exercise, such as long walks, or should I
rest more?
(A) The exercise should not be so much, - that is, not such LONG walks,
especially through the early portion of the applications indicated; but
the body should be in the open as much as possible, and gradually - as
more strength is gained - the exercise may be greater. Walking is the better
exercise; and when taking walks, before walking eat half a lemon; and then
after walking, eat the other half - with salt. The first would be without
salt. Then drink plenty of water.
40. (Q) What is the nature of the small lump which appeared recently
in my left breast?
(A) This as we find is only a matter of a glandular clogging. With
the general drainage of the system set up, and the stimulations through
those activities indicated, this should of itself disappear. If it does
not, then the glandular force will need some stimulation by massaging the
area with a small quantity of Cocoa-Butter; not over the breast, but over
the area of the mammary glands, under the arm.
41. (Q) Is my increasing need of glasses due to ill-nourished nerves?
(A) More from the GENERAL disturbance and weakness of the system. All
of these weaknesses, to be sure, will necessarily be aided if those applications
suggested are consistently and systematically followed.
Then, the glasses may be fitted for the eyes, to
prevent the strains that may come from close work of writing, sewing or
the like. Do not have them changed so much, or fitted, until after the
periods at least of beginning the second or third week of the osteopathic
adjustments. Do these things, and we will find these will be the necessary
forces, and will gradually reduce the headaches - eliminating them entirely.
42. We are through for the present.

(Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes.
2. Now as we find, there ARE disturbing conditions which prevent the
better normal physical functioning. While these in the present are rather
aggravating at times, they have not reached those proportions in disturbance
that they WILL unless something is done about same.
3. The disturbing forces as we find arise from, primarily the glandular
system; caused by an unbalancing in the chemical reactions in the system
and not sufficient of iodides or too MUCH of others that cause a reaction
upon the glands - that is beginning, as indicated in the pressures upon
the nerve system - to cause a disturbance in the locomotion of the body
at times.
4. Naturally, the blood supply has also become unbalanced, so that there
is insufficient of skin foods or vitamins in same as assimilated through
these glandular disturbances to produce the proper superficial or capillary
circulation.
5. These are hindrances by impulses as well as the necessary influences
to be taken in the system that would cause a cleansing, and the allowing
of the body to become more normal IN those reactions from the glandular
forces, as the applications would be made for the purifying and the cleansing
of the blood forces as related to the glandular secretions, the abilities
of the assimilating system, - through the digestive forces and the distribution
of that assimilated to aid in adding the vital energies and necessary forces
to stimulate a better capillary circulation, as well as removing those
pressures from the impulse centers that will aid in this distribution as
the cleansing takes place.
6. As we find, then, in the present we would begin first with taking
small doses of Atomidine. For THIS body we would take it in this manner:
For the first seven days, take one minim (drop) in half a glass of water
each morning before any meal is taken. Then leave same off five days. Then
begin taking TWO minims each morning for seven days. Then leave off five
days. Then at the third series take THREE minims in half a glass of water
(not more than this) each morning for the seven days. Leave off three to
five days.
7. THEN begin with an adjustment, osteopathically administered, to relieve
those tensions which exist in the lumbar, sacral and coccyx area, - as
well as in the upper dorsal and through the cervical area. But remove in
the beginning those pressures in the lumbar and the dorsal and the sacral,
BEFORE there is the attempt to other than make COORDINATING activities
through the upper areas that also need these adjustments and stimulation
for the better eliminations.
8. Take these treatments about twice a week, until at least sixteen
adjustments have been made.
9. At the beginning of the second series of taking the Atomidine (in
the manner indicated), we would have a high colonic irrigation to cleanse
the colon, to assist in removing those poisons from the system that tend
to aid in producing the pressures through the colon and caecum area that
cause disturbances in the body as to the irritation, as well as pressures
in the area along the limbs, the sciatics, and especially under the knee
and those portions of the lower extremities.
10. After the first colonic, if it is necessary that there be a further
cleansing, owing to the pressures as may be felt through the caecum or
abdominal area, take another high colonic irrigation about ten days or
two weeks after the first.
11. For the abrasions on neck, use the tetrachloride as combined in
the Ointment known as D.D.D. Prescription. This would be applied about
twice each day, evenings when ready to retire, mornings before dressing
or after the bathing.
12. Then as to the diet: Add to the diet the Irish potato PEEL, but
not the pulp a great deal. It would be better if the nice potatoes are
cleansed, peeled and only the PEELINGS cooked and eaten! Throw the other
part away, or give it to the chickens, or distribute it in some other manner
besides eating it!
13. Especially we would have in the diet all forms of artichoke, - the
American, the bulbular, as well as occasionally the Jerusalem artichoke.
Not so often either of these, but about once or twice a week, - this preferably
boiled (the Jerusalem artichoke) as you would boil an Irish potato, but
the WHOLE of this would be eaten, you see. When it is boiled, boil it in
Patapar Paper, and the juice which comes from same would be saved to be
mashed with the pulp of the artichoke; and it should be mealy or crumbly
just as the roasted or baked potato, see?
14. Also we would add CALCIOS to the diet WHEN the osteopathic manipulations
are begun, but NOT during the periods that the Atomidine is being taken.
Take the Calcios, about the quantity as would be thinly spread on a wafer,
- not a saltine but rather that which is of the plain nature, - this about
once each day; this to be taken during the whole period the adjustments
osteopathically are being made.
15. Leave off red meat of any kind. At least one meal each day should
consist principally of raw vegetables.
16. After the sixteen osteopathic adjustments, we would give further
instructions for this body.
17. Ready for questions.
18. (Q) Is the pain in leg sciatica?
(A) Rather as indicated, it is NOT true sciatica; rather a combination
of pressures or conditions existent in the alimentary canal as well as
the glandular forces that are contributory to, or are the BASIS of those
conditions which produce disturbance in the limbs.
19. (Q) What causes the migraine headaches - chronic?
(A) These come from that same character of disturbance. After the beginning
of the osteopathic manipulations we should find these gradually disappearing,
entirely.
20. (Q) What is cause of baldness, with no eyelashes or eyebrows?
(A) The glandular forces, which we are to purify and then stimulate
by the addition of food values that will aid in supplying those nutriments
to the system to supply activities to cause growth, or activity of those
organs as will produce same, - portion of the thyroid.
21. Do as we have indicated, following all of these in the manner outlined
for the body, and after the sixteenth osteopathic treatment we would give
further instructions.
22. We are through for the present.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body. You will answer the questions she submits, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1857].
3. Now as we find, there are disturbing conditions which prevent the
better normal physical reactions.
4. These as we find arise from adhesions, that have existed from those
conditions which arose during those periods of motherhood, - and cause
then the disturbances with the gall duct and liver area, as well as through
the caecum, colon and - naturally - disturbances through the pelvic organs
at times.
5. Then, these are conditions as we find them with this body, [1857]
we are speaking of, present in this room:
6. First, in the blood supply there are hindrances, - which arise from
those adhesions or lesions, and the disturbance with the assimilating system;
thus indicating a disturbance in the liver and gall duct area, with the
activities of same to the digestive forces through their action upon that
to be assimilated.
7. This produces in the blood stream a lack of elements as make for
the vital energies to be stored as it were in the system. Thus we find
times when it appears as if only the nerve forces or energies would carry
the body on; weak or tired from the distresses through the system itself.
8. In the nervous system, - here we find the sources of the disturbance,
as well as the effects upon the system itself between the sympathetic and
cerebrospinal nervous systems.
9. As indicated, there have been lesions in the last dorsal and first
lumbar, - these have been the sources of the disturbances with this body,
combined with the inflammatory condition which existed at childbirth, -
causing - with those activities in the system - an adhesion in the right
portion of the abdominal area.
10. This has caused and does cause at times a distress - either when
there is too much acidity or when there are not the proper eliminations
through alimentary canal - that makes for pressures upon the nervous system.
11. Hence we have strained conditions that come, - as in the right side,
the WHOLE of the area from just below the liver to the groin or caecum
area. All of these bring distress in the caecum as well as the gall duct
area.
12. This then through the nerve system produces the strain upon the
whole of the activity of the body.
13. As we find, these conditions do not necessarily need operative measures
for the correction of same, - if there are those measures taken which would
break up the adhesions and also make for reactions in the liver, the gall
duct, the pancreas, the spleen, as to coordinate with the kidneys and with
the eliminating system. For we may cleanse same without, necessarily, operative
measures.
14. But if there should come an acute condition, and a great deal of
temperature (towards which there is the natural tendency, in those periods
when disturbances arise, - owing to the weakness), then an operation might
become necessary.
15. However, we would make applications first, regularly, about three
times each week, of heavy Castor Oil Packs - for about an hour each time
- over the areas from the lower portion of the liver to the caecum area,
and extending low over the right groin.
16. The next day after the Packs are used, each time, take at least
two teaspoonful of Olive Oil as an aid to the eliminations. The same day,
or the next day, have also a high colonic irrigation, or high enema; using
a saline-soda solution, followed with an antiseptic solution, to cleanse
the colon, to prevent the conditions in the caecum as well as the ascending
colon from becoming engorged, as there is the inclination to do. These
high colonics may be taken by self, you see; not necessary that such be
done otherwise, but - to the quart and a half of water, body-temperature,
add a level teaspoonful of baking soda and a heaping teaspoonful of table
salt, dissolving same thoroughly; being sure to have the water body-temperature,
not hotter, not colder. Then in the last water, the quart and a half used
after the evacuation of the bowel, put a tablespoonful of Glyco-Thymoline
as an intestinal antiseptic.
17. Use the Packs about three times each week for about three to four
weeks, followed by the
Olive Oil AND the enemas each time, you see.
18. THEN we would have the osteopathic adjustments to ASSIST in breaking
up lesions, and also in emptying the gall duct. If this is done after the
three weeks of applying the Oil Packs as indicated, we will find it will
not only aid in making the proper corrections and bringing the better conditions
for the body, but will strengthen and correct many of those disturbances
through other portions of the system that are reflexes and contributory
conditions to those disturbances which have been indicated.
19. In the matter of the diet, -
20. Beware of fried foods.
21. Beware of citrus fruits and cereals at the same meal. Not that either
of these would be eliminated from the diet, but do not have them at the
same meal.
22. Whole Wheat cereals (of the cooked cereals) or Maltex, or cut oats,
are well.
23. With orange juice always add a little lemon with same; this will
act much better with the system.
24. If meats are taken in any quantity, use only fish, fowl or lamb.
25. When potatoes are eaten, use only that portion close to the skin
(and the skin itself), rather than too much of the bulk of same.
26. Once a week have artichoke, the Jerusalem type, as this will aid
in cleansing, easing the activity of the kidneys with the disturbance that
has been with the circulation, and with the liver disturbance. This will
also purify the activity through the bladder, aiding in the relief of those
tensions when the acidity causes disturbance through portions of the system.
27. Do these and we will bring the near to normal forces for this body.
28. Ready for questions.
29. (Q) How many osteopathic treatments should the body take, and how
often?
(A) Let's wait until we come to these, and then we may check with those
conditions which exist.
Best that there be the breaking up of the lesions by the application
of the Oil Packs AND Oil Rubs. On those days when the Castor Oil Packs
are NOT given, we ould - when ready to retire - massage across the whole
of the abdomen with an equal combination of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil. Massage
all the body will absorb, especially across the diaphragm area, over the
liver and the caecum area, down the right side, you see, to the middle
portion of the abdomen, or along the umbilical line or plexus. This will
not only aid in making better absorption for the Castor Oil Packs but will
add to the activity of the lymph circulation throughout the abdominal area.
30. (Q) May appendix be corrected without operation?
(A) As we find, if the causes of these conditions are removed, they
should be eliminated WITHOUT operative measures.
31. (Q) What special treatment for migraine headaches?
(A) This is the reflex here from the condition in the gall duct area,
and as those applications are made CORRECTING the eliminations and the
lesions, we will find that the headaches will gradually disappear. When
there are the attacks, refrain as much as possible from taking sedatives,
of course; for these only tend to clog the system in those areas that are
ALREADY under stress. But when ready to retire use an electrically driven
vibrator across the diaphragm centers, on the spine, you see; 9th
dorsal and the brachial center, 1st, 2nd and 3rd dorsal, and the last of
the cervicals, and at the base of the brain. This done when there is the
attack will be found to relieve the body from having to take other ingredients.
But begin with the Oil Packs SOON, and we will have less and less of the
headaches?
32. (Q) What happened, a few months ago during the headache, when something
seemed to pop in my head, - since which time the attacks haven't seemed
to be as severe?
(A) There is the coordination between the nerve systems, as we have
indicated, at the area where the medulla oblongata enters the lower portion
of the brain, see? At that period when there was such a severe attack,
there was the breaking of a lesion in the ABDOMINAL area. This SOUNDED
through the sympathetic nerve system, PRODUCING the condition in the head
itself. For, as was indicated, it appeared to go THROUGH AND OUT the head.
33. (Q) Why is it that I cannot sleep on my right side, without the
peculiar effect to my head?
(A) Just as indicated, here the lesions exist, you see. Lying upon
the right side tends to make for a STRETCHING of that portion, and it makes
those pressures upon the nervous system as well as upon those portions
where the lesions exist. And the lesions exist in the area about the gall
duct, as well as the caecum, - or in the appendicial area.
34. (Q) Should any particular treatment be given for the sinus?
(A) This as we find will clear MATERIALLY with the applications for
the cleansing and purifying of the system, and especially when the osteopathic
adjustments are made through the cerebrospinal system. This is among the
conditions as we have just indicated that would be materially aided, as
it is a part of the reflex condition from the main disturbance, - in the
right area of the upper abdomen.
35. (Q) What should be done for the hemorrhoid condition?
(A) Use TIM. Here again we will find, however, the condition will be
materially aided from the very applications indicated. For this is taken
into consideration, - as to the manner in which the colonic irrigations
are to be given, see? As these conditions are purified, these will be materially
aided. But when those strains upon the system are removed, this condition
will also be aided considerably by the close adherence to the diet indicated.
However, when disturbance is caused in this direction, use TIM as a local
application. As indicated, though, this is a part of the GENERAL condition
through the abdominal area. Keep those attitudes which have LONG formed
a part of the approach to every condition, physically, mentally, materially;
with that hopefulness. For the mind, to be sure, has a great deal to do
with how ANY condition is viewed.
36. We are through for the present.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly,
and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause
of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this
body. You will answer the questions which have been submitted, as I ask
them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1807].
3. Now as we find, conditions which exist with this body are not fully
understood by those administering in the present; or the present ministrations
would not indicate same at least.
4. There exists a very definite disturbance, as we find; and unless
there are some measures for corrections it may bring conditions that will
so affect the mental, THROUGH the pressures being created, as to cause
a great deal of disturbance, and a condition hard to cope with if only
the nervousness AND the attitudes are kept THROUGH this nervousness as
being produced, rather than aided by those applications.
5. These then are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1807]
we are speaking of:
6. In the blood supply there is not a great deal of disturbance, though
quite a variation in the blood pressure as well as the character of the
blood supply, owing to the character of administrations for these disturbances.
7. In the nervous system do we find the cause of the disturbance; through
a pressure existent in the lumbar and sacral area. This was produced by
conditions that have caused an unbalancing of the pelvic bone, or the pelvic
saddle rather; and that needs such corrections as to remove the tension
on the sympathetic system, as well as the effect produced in the cerebrospinal
system from the coccyx, the sacral, the ileum plexus and the lumbar axis;
and then, of course, those areas from the 9th dorsal to the 1st cervical
coordinated with same. This would be done osteopathically, and preferably
in the Dobbins' manner.
8. This as we find will remove those tensions after a few applications.
9. It would be well that these treatments be kept for a period of six
to eight weeks, though towards the end the applications or adjustments
may be farther apart. In the first we would give these two or three times
a week; for of necessity these will not be very deep treatments in the
beginning.
10. We will find that the inclinations for the terrific headaches, and
with some applications that are being undertaken, may become of a migraine
nature. For the pressure and the effect of these upon the nerve forces
as radiate through the vagus centers and areas are becoming involved, and
will be found to be very tender; especially in the upper dorsal areas.
11. Hence these will necessitate that there be GENTLENESS in applying
the first three or four treatments, and that there be - through some means
- a sedative of a very mild nature, to aid in relieving the tensions through
the system, especially for rest.
12. But that these are affecting the connections between the cerebrospinal
and sympathetic, through the pelvis as WELL as through the vegetative areas,
is indicated by the attitudes that the sympathetic reactions produce in
the body.
13. However, as we find, if these are applied in the manners as have
been here indicated, through the general applications for such pressures,
we will find aid and help that should soon bring near to normalcy through
this body.
14. Also that there have been some lesions formed, or adherences through
pelvic organs, will be found; unless there is a ready response TO the applications
which we have indicated are not
proper for this condition.
15. The use of douches, not above body-temperature and not below, with
a teaspoonful of Atomidine to the quart of water, will be most helpful
in relieving the tensions through pelvic organs AS corrections are made
in the lumbar, sacral and coccyx area, AND coordinated with the rest of
the system.
16. Do that, and we will bring near to normal forces for this body,
[1807].
17. Ready for questions.
18. (Q) What sedative would you recommend?
(A) This had best be left with those making the applications, see?
19. (Q) Should she continue all present treatments?
(A) As we find, we would go to Dobbins immediately and follow those
instructions here given.
20. (Q) Is present living routine suitable to effect a cure, if following
the treatments here suggested?
(A) It will be necessary that there will at some time come a change.
This may be followed BETTER by the body being closer to Dobbins, for the
first few weeks - if this is practical.
21. (Q) About how long should treatments require to effect a cure?
(A) As indicated.
22. (Q) Will treatments suggested eliminate the constant headaches?
(A) As indicated. Do these.
23. We are through for the present.

(Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, Mrs. [1651].
2. Now as we find, there have been for some time past disturbing conditions
that have left their activity on the system; in such a manner until the
nervous forces of the body and the reactions of the digestive system do
give disturbances to the body in many ways.
3. This as we find was primarily a glandular disturbance, but with the
character of applications - and sedatives and activities for eliminations,
and for the stirring of the internal organs it has become more of a constitutional
disturbance.
4. However, the primary cause lies in a subluxation that has become
a part of the condition through the lumbar and sacral area.
5. Thus we have sick headaches, or the character of headaches in which
distress is caused both from the cerebrospinal and the nervous system.
6. There is a form of nervous indigestion in the primary manner of reaction;
making for the slowness with which the digestive forces have acted or have
emptied; thus causing great disturbance.
7. These are conditions as we find them with this body, [1651] we are
speaking of:
8. The blood supply indicates the nervous strain as well as the character
of toxic forces that are indicated in the system; and the katabolism of
the body is naturally upset with the very nature of the disturbance through
the digestive forces more than the metabolism of the body.
9. However, the metabolism is under stress; and with the QUANTITIES
of a dosage for relaxing the body, there have been periods when there has
not been the correct coordination of the circulatory forces through the
lungs, the heart, the liver and the kidneys.
10. And these, of course, make for quick pulsation and at other times
very slow and very laggard. This causes poor eliminations at times also.
11. We find, too, that the distress upon the nervous system and the
pressures as indicated in the lumbar and sacral area have - through the
periods of changes in the activities of the body, through glandular secretion
and glandular activity - changed or rather increased the pressures upon
the digestive forces.
12. Thus there has been caused what has been termed migraine, or the
effect of the fifth nerve center and the vagus center as to the headaches
- on top of the head at times, at others at the base of the brain and then
through the temple and eyes.
13. All of these as we find may be relieved materially, though it will
take a little time.
14. Gradually, as soon as the pressures are removed, diminish the sedative
forces. It will be necessary to take these, of course; but diminish them
as fast as possible.
15. Osteopathically, have those corrections made throughout the dorsal
and cervical area. Twice a week have these treatments; once a week a correction
through the lower dorsal and through the lumbar and sacral area, and once
a week a general treatment. Be consistent in taking these. Take them for
about three or four weeks, leave off two to three weeks, and then have
another series.
16. Also it would be well for the body to use the Radio-Active Appliance
to bring rest, or when there is the inclination for the nerve forces to
react or to bring about the disturbance or pressures in the headaches.
It would not be necessary to use the Appliance each day, but when there
is the inclination for pains through the head - or the quickened circulation
- make the attachments. And for this body we find that it would be well
most of the time to make the attachments to the right wrist and left ankle;
the first plate attached to the right wrist, the last to the left ankle.
Such attachments will make the better conditions for this body, owing to
the very nature and character of the pressures created in the system. Attach
for thirty minutes to an hour.
17. After the heavy meal, whether it's morning, noon or night - twenty
to thirty minutes afterwards - we would take a little Alcaroid - about
a quarter teaspoonful - in a full glass of water. This will act better
with the digestive system.
18. For the disturbance locally - in the face and eye and lid and left
portion - we would have this attended by a masseur or masseuse, - that
is, when such treatments are taken, regularly, have the masseur to massage
between the shoulders, over the neck - both front and back - and over the
back of the ear, across the temple and the side of the face, with an equal
combination of Olive Oil, Tincture of Myrrh and Compound Tincture of Benzoin.
Heat the Oil to add the other ingredients. After the excess remains, or
when the body has absorbed or allowed this to work into the system for
a few minutes, then it would be well, of course, that these areas be sponged.
But don't massage or rub off too SOON, rather wait three to four to five
minutes; then it may be sponged off - preferably with a little soda water.
19. In the matter of the diet, keep closer to those of very frugal reactions;
that is, never any of the highly seasoned foods, never any fried foods,
never any white bread. Use whole wheat, rye, brown or crisp bread.
20. Do these for the body.
21. All of these follow, and we will find better conditions for this
body.
22. Ready for questions.
23. We are through for the present.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present
time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions,
as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Miss [1567]; this we have had before.
3. As we find, in some respects the body is not so well; in others changes
are for the better.
4. Those applications that were made for the corrections in the nervous
and cerebrospinal system were not in accord with that which we indicated
as being the source or cause of the headaches. This, as indicated, is a
combination of nerve pressures with the bad assimilations and eliminations.
5. When there are the attempts to make the adjustments in the central
dorsal area, and throughout the upper dorsal and the cervical, the body
should be thoroughly relaxed - with Wet Heat. These should be made OSTEOPATHICALLY,
NOT chiropractically; for merely the adjustment is NOT sufficient, but
ALL of the segments should receive a relaxing treatment - not a stimulating
treatment. So, relax the body thoroughly.
6. About twice a week such osteopathic adjustments would be made. These
would not be made by a chiropractor or a masseur, but by an osteopath.
7. Also, in conjunction with the osteopathic treatments, - that is,
during the same period of time that these are being taken:
8. We would have the general hydrotherapy treatments as given by a physiotherapist;
including the Cabinet Sweat, with the massage by a masseuse over the limbs
and the spine.
9. Also with same we would have the colonic irrigations, that we may
remove the toxic forces that cause pressures in the system, causing muscular
or neuritic reactions in the extremities.
10. The general hydrotherapy we would take regularly, but the colonic
irrigations would only be given sufficiently often to eliminate the conditions
that cause this disturbance or pressure, which will be indicated by the
mucous that is eliminated from the colon area. The first two colonics,
then, would be within three weeks, or during the first three weeks period;
and after that just sufficient to keep down the toxic forces from poor
eliminations.
11. If these applications will be followed persistently and consistently,
we will remove the causes and the disturbances; bringing the better conditions
for this body, [1567].
12. Ready for questions.
13. (Q) How may I prevent gain in weight?
(A) This may be done by keeping down the calories, and by the general
work-out once a week with the masseuse and the hydrotherapy treatment.
Also, for weight reduction, we would follow the grape juice way; that is:
Half an hour before each meal and at bedtime, drink
two ounces of Grape Juice (preferably Welch's) in one ounce of plain water
(not carbonated water). Do this consistently four times each day, in this
manner. Keep away from sugars, pastries and the like. These will keep better
conditions in the assimilation and elimination also.
14. (Q) What is the true cause of the headaches which have been chronic
for three years?
(A) As we have given, pressures in the cerebrospinal and sympathetic
nerve system, as combined with poor eliminations from the alimentary canal.
Do as we have given, and we will bring the better conditions for this body.
15. We are through with this Reading.

(Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Miss [1567].
2. As we find, there are disturbing conditions which prevent the better
normal reaction in the physical forces of the body.
3. These as we find, in their expression or manifestation, are in the
nervous system disturbances which cause severe attacks of headaches.
4. However, these as we find arise rather from definite disturbances.
5. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, Miss
[1567] we are speaking of:
6. The blood supply indicates a taxation in the nervous system, as well
as poor eliminations.
7. These as we find affect also the digestive forces, by the natural
ABNORMAL condition of the stomach itself.
8. Owing to the position then of the stomach, there are those pressures
arising - through the pneumogastric and hypogastric nerve plexus, through
the secondary cardiac plexus area, combined with the vagus nervous system
- that produce the greater disturbances through temples, sometimes eyes,
at other times the top of the head. These are SEVERE reactions to the nerve
centers that are reflexed in the activity of the digestive and assimilating
system.
9. These as we find are the sources, the causes of the greater disturbances.
10. And with the corrections of these we should find the nervous system,
or systems, the reactions of the imaginative and mental reactions much
changed; the digestive forces very much nearer in order to normalcy; better
assimilation; and with the aid through activities of those properties which
we will indicate for the system, better eliminations.
11. As we would find, then, in making for assimilations for this body:
12. First, it is necessary at times for the use of a sedative, but keep
away from those that are habit forming as much as possible. And as corrections
are made these should be entirely left off or not necessary at all for
the body to find relief.
13. We would begin using the Radio-Active Appliance each day, preferably
at a period when the body may rest for at least forty to sixty minutes
- even though it be in the evening just before retiring. And use this same
period, when the Appliance is used, as the period for constructive meditation
upon creative energies and forces of a spiritual nature that may be applied
in the relationships of the body to the activities with others.
14. The attachments would be circulated about the body; that is, in
this manner: Make a mark on one pole of the Appliance, so that it is always
the first attachment. This may be done by using a piece of adhesive paper
or string tied to that anode. Alternate the attachments as follows:
15. First day: The first attachment would be to the right wrist, the
last attachment to the left ankle.
16. Second day: First attachment to the left wrist, last attachment
to the right ankle.
17. Third day: First to the left ankle, last to the right wrist.
18. Fourth day: First to the right ankle, last to the left wrist.
19. Thus a circle of the body will have been made in the attachments,
you see; the first attachment being or becoming the positive, the last
the negative.
20. Then begin over again, attaching in the same manner.
21. Continue using in this manner, for forty minutes to an hour each
day, for three weeks. Then leave off three to five days, and then begin
all over again.
22. Keep the anodes or plates very clean by polishing with emery paper
each time before attaching.
23. Also each day about thirty minutes after the heaviest meal (whichever
meal is the heaviest), we would take a quarter teaspoonful of Alcaroid
in two glasses of water; that is, dissolve it in a small quantity, then
fill the glass; then drink another glass of water afterward.
24. We would begin also with osteopathic adjustments, with the osteopath
making suggestions for the type support for the stomach which will fit
the body the better.
25. The specific adjustments would be in the upper dorsal and ESPECIALLY
in the vagus nerve center and system; coordinating each time the 9th dorsal
center as well as the lumbar axis WITH the adjustments made in the dorsal
and cervical areas.
26. These would be taken twice a week for three weeks, left off for
a week and then taken for a period of three weeks again.
27. In the matter of the diet, this as we find is most essential with
the corrections as well as the vibrations set up by the body-electrical
forces, as well as the manipulations and the activities of the properties
indicated for the digestion.
28. Hence this would be rather as an outline; not just these alone,
but foods of such natures:
29. Mornings - either citrus fruit juices or cereals, preferably COOKED
cereals when taken - either Maltex or Whole Wheat. DO NOT take cereals
at the same meal that the citrus fruits are taken, however. Alternate these.
Or stewed fruits with whole wheat toast, with Ovaltine or coffee - but
not with milk in the coffee, though the Ovaltine is made with milk.
30. Noons - preferably we would have this meal consist principally of
raw vegetables, either by the combinations or lettuce or celery with occasionally
the meat juices or vegetable juices. But not so much of meats OR cooked
vegetables at this meal.
31. Evenings - preferably this would be the heavier or the more varied
meal. In meats, if these are taken, we would use only fish, fowl or lamb.
No fried foods ever at any time. Have more leafy vegetables, rather than
those of pod or the root nature or those that grow under the ground.
32. Never combine white bread, potatoes, spaghetti or the like - any
two of these in the same meal.
33. Do these and be consistent; and we should find not only the attacks
lessening but farther and farther apart, as the adjustments are made that
hold the stomach in position, and as the digestion and assimilation and
eliminations are aided; thus bringing near normal forces for this body.
34. Ready for questions.
35. We are through for the present.

(Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1476].
2. Now as we find, the disturbing conditions in the physical forces
of this body are rather hidden; and are rather a growth - or an outcome
of what appeared to be minor conditions, or of little disturbances in their
beginning or inception.
3. These as we find had to do rather with the effect that arises from
an incoordination between the sympathetic or vegetative nerve system and
the cerebrospinal system.
4. These began some years ago, when the body was under stress and strain
in a nervous manner, and not with the proper diets; but with rather a starvation
as it were to the nervous system overtaxed same with influences to stimulate
the body to activity - of natures that were insidious in their beginnings
or activities.
5. Hence we find they have produced at the present these disturbances
with this body of [1476]:
6. The blood lacks the ability for the perfect coagulation.
7. Hence the inclination for the inability of carrying the active forces
without carrying the inflammatory forces with same. Hence the inclination
for the rapid pulse, and the high nervous tensions with the inclinations
of the muscular forces to contract; producing in the extremities of the
body tautnesses when there is the least overexertion to the body.
8. It is not, then, a true heart condition, but of a nerve and blood
force, or disturbance in the nerve and blood supply in such manners as
to give those activities through the heart - as from lungs to heart, to
liver; as from circulation to liver, to heart, to lungs - of the skipping
at times, overpressure at times, headaches that disturb the body almost
as migraine in their nature.
9. These are the reactions to the nervous system, as we find, and to
the blood supply. These make for conditions that produce weaknesses in
the abilities of the entity to act in a great exertion of a physical capacity.
Thus the mental reaction produces that of moroseness, and the inclination
to be very pessimistic about the surroundings, the activities.
10. On the whole then, as we find, general debilitations are produced
with this body.
11. As we find, these may be builded back to a near normal manner, if
there is the consistent and persistent effort on the part of the body,
but necessitating the applications - in a consistent and persistent manner
- that may in the beginning appear to be aggravating rather than allaying.
12. But if there is the persistency, we will find we may be able to
remove those inclinations for the lack of coordination in the nerve reflexes
and the nerve impulses, and through same stimulate the circulation to a
more normal activity.
13. And thus through the foods or the diets apply those necessary elements
for the creating of a balance in the chemical reactions of the system as
between the sodas, the potashes - or the alkalinity and the acidity - and
the reactions for the body of the ability for replenishing itself.
14. First then, as we find:
15. There should be taken at least once a week, for a period of five
to six weeks, the very HIGH vibrations of electrical forces given as a
massage along the cerebrospinal system; and especially around the head,
the neck, and then down the whole length of the spine, to create impulses
- through the very activity of the electrical forces upon the centers of
the body - for coordination between the vegetative or sympathetic system
AND the deeper or cerebrospinal system.
16. About once a week, but not at the same time, there should be given
the thorough hydrotherapy treatments; alleviating this inclination for
the prolapsus in the caecum area of the colon. This, of course, to be sure,
would be through the colonics with the PARTICULAR direction of making for
adjustments through the right AND left side in the abdomen, not only with
the intestine or colon dilated somewhat - but we would have those periods
when also with same there would be (but at times when the colon is NOT
dilated) a massage across the abdomen and especially across the colon area
with an equal combination of Peanut Oil and Olive Oil. Do this occasionally;
not every time but sometimes every second treatment and sometimes every
third treatment we would have the Cabinet or FUME Bath. Not too hot, so
as to heat the body and cause the greater disturbance to the heart's activity,
but this watched very closely during such treatments. We would follow these
with the salt AND with the rum rub.
17. In the matter of the diet: Beware of ANY character of food that
even creates a great quantity of alcohol, or of ANY alcohol, or of drinks
that carry alcohol. Those drinks with a little charged water would be very
well - as Coca Cola or Orangeade or the like, if taken once or twice a
day; for their reaction upon the system as related to especially the hepatic
or the kidney AND liver circulation would be good.
18. Beware of starches or combinations of starches that produce the
excesses.
19. Let this be rather as an outline, though not JUST these foods taken
- but foods of these natures:
20. Mornings - citrus fruit juices, or whole wheat cereals - as Maltex
or Crushed Wheat, that are well, WELL cooked (but do not combine cereals
AND citrus fruits at the same meal!). These may be altered at times also
with stewed fruits; as figs, the pie plant, or tomato juice - that may
be taken in preference to the citrus fruit juices. But all of these should
be taken at one time or another. Coffee may be taken if it is desired,
with brown toast at the meal - but WITHOUT cream or milk in same!
21. Noons - preferably have as a portion of same only raw vegetables
combined together. Vegetable juices may be taken at this time. The shell
fish may be taken at this time, in their various forms.
22. Evenings - only the vegetables and meats that are well cooked and
well balanced. No fried foods at any time. The meats should consist principally
of fish, fowl or lamb. Have three vegetables above the ground to one below
the ground.
23. Do these consistently for six to eight weeks, and then we would
give further instructions.
24. Ready for questions.
25. (Q) What special electrical treatment is referred to?
(A) That - All of these we would give as at The Reilly Service; and
that special electrical treatment is given by the electricity passing to
the body through the manipulations of a very high nature.
26. (Q) What causes constant congestion?
(A) As indicated, this inability of the coagulation of the blood forces
to supply necessary influences for carrying same away. Thus it gradually
and consistently produces a low form of FEVER - or temperature; thus affecting
the circulation, as said, through the lungs, the heart, the liver; the
liver, the heart, the lungs. This, though, is a nervous and not a true
heart disturbance. Hence the necessity of consistency and persistency in
those things indicated for the body-betterment.
27. (Q) What causes pains in joints?
(A) As indicated, the lack of the lymph flow and the lack of the eliminations
to keep away the poisons produced by the excess of temperature through
the circulatory forces of the body.
28. (Q) What about present treatment?
(A) As we would give, these treatments that have been outlined would
be much preferable. Take ALL of these, leave off others, or DO NOT take
these at all!
29. We are through for the present.

(Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1400].
2. Now, as we find, there are disturbing conditions that produce such
reactions as to bring great distress to the body, as well as keeping activities
such as to prevent the functioning of the body in a complete way or manner.
3. These conditions as we find are somewhat of a complication. While
these have been called migraine, this as we find is not the perfect description
of the character of distresses as would be indicated by the name.
4. Then, these as we find are the conditions which prevent the normal
forces - and how these may be corrected in the present; first:
5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, there are the indications of the inflammation
or pressure that is from a dis-eased nervous system; or those centers from
and through which there is the coordination between the cerebrospinal and
the sympathetic nerve centers or systems. These are the centers from which
the radial activity arises that produces these intolerable headaches at
times; headaches at base of brain, top of head, through the sides of the
head. These vary just a bit according to the condition or the pressure
or the reaction that brings about the arising or the arousing of the nervous
system to the reaction.
6. This as indicated in the blood stream also prevents bodily functions
in some directions, making for a strain upon the organs as related to the
abilities of the body to build reserve energies.
7. Hence the taxation that makes for the body so easily tiring.
8. These conditions, as we find, arose from that of cold or congestion,
or a neuralgic reaction to the nerve system from cold - or flu; thus involving
the glandular system which must be taken into consideration in bringing
help or relief, as well as to remove the pressures and build up the general
reactions.
9. For excitement, cold, overtiring, the regular menstrual period of
elimination or reaction, all of these have their bearing upon the condition;
and from one or the other or all of these sources does the condition at
times arise.
10. THE EFFECT OF THESE UPON THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, we find, as has been
indicated, it is that condition or those centers through which the cerebrospinal
and the vegetative or sympathetic systems coordinate.
11. Hence we find at the 2nd and 3rd cervical, the 1st and 2nd
dorsal, throughout the lumbar area, in the coccyx end of the spine, specific
centers that will be found under the various stresses to be quite sensitive
to the conditions that exist.
12. As these in their various forms react, there is at times the nausea
accompanying these - owing to those inabilities of assimilation, through
the activity of the glandular forces refusing to secrete properly for the
carrying on of the functionings of same.
13. If there will be the consistent and persistent applications, we
find that these may be relieved and gradually the causes eliminated - until
these reactions or these headaches would get farther and farther apart.
14. Not that these will be eliminated or relieved immediately, for these
are physical conditions and must be met in a physical way. But remember,
the mental and spiritual attitude will have, does have, much to do with
creating the proper atmosphere as well as the physical and mental condition
for the activity of the applications that may bring near normalcy for the
body.
15. THESE, THEN, ARE THE MANNERS IN WHICH WE WOULD BEGIN:
16. After thirty to sixty days we would change, or we would give further
instructions - and it depends upon how the body reacts as to what changes
would be necessary at that period.
17. Begin, though, with these:
18. First, as there is the indication of the glandular system, we would
take that which will cleanse same or produce a reaction.
19. Hence we would begin with Atomidine; one minim in half a glass of
water before the morning meal each day for three days; then take two minims
for three days; then take three minims for three days. Then leave off for
three days. And begin then with the one minim again, and so on.
20. Then, after this has been repeated, begin with the applications
of the Radio-Active Appliance once or twice a day, to help the body at
rest and to make for rest. If taken only once a day, take it just before
retiring of evening. If there are periods when the severe headaches arise,
or the tiredness - tiredness in the eyes, in the limbs, in the lower portion
of the abdominal area - take it thirty minutes twice a day. But if taken
once in the evening, attach for one hour. These applications would only
be begun, you see, after the series or the two periods of taking the Atomidine
in the manner indicated.
21. Also begin with osteopathic manipulations - NOT chiropractic but
OSTEOPATHIC manipulations! And these should be very specific, but very
gently given; that is:
22. Of course, begin with the relaxing of the body at the upper cervical
area, then relaxing in the upper dorsal area, then the lumbar and the coccyx
area. This should be done gently in a circular motion.
23. But DO NOT make ADJUSTMENTS until there has been sufficient relaxation
by the manipulations; following a period of at least two to three weeks
before attempting to make those adjustments in the lumbar, the sacral,
the central dorsal, the upper dorsal and cervical. All need the segmentation
to be released so that the activities of the glandular system, as will
be aroused by the use of the properties indicated (the Atomidine) AND by
the vibratory forces of the body
(through the Radio-Active Appliance), will stimulate the circulation
along the nerve system with these applications to make for bettered conditions.
24. In the diet: DO NOT have too much starches. Never white bread and
potatoes at the same meal, nor cheese nor spaghetti nor macaroni at the
same meal with white bread or potatoes; but these may be taken in their
proper relationships.
25. No hog meat at all, save a little crisp breakfast bacon. Use rather
lamb, fowl or fish as the meats.
26. Do not overload the stomach when there is the regurgitation from
nervous reaction, or the sick stomach. At such times we would settle same
first by using an emetic - with a little mustard water.
27. Then afterwards - after using such an emetic - we would use a compound
prepared in this manner:
Limewater...........................1/2 ounce,
Cinnamon Water......................1/2 ounce,
10% solution Iodide of Potassium......5 minims,
10% solution Bromide of Potassium....20 minims.
Do not keep this too long. Over thirty days it will
disintegrate and not be helpful. The dose would be - to settle the stomach,
you see; only taken when there has been the necessity of emptying the stomach
- a teaspoonful in half a glass of water.
28. Do this, and after sixty - thirty to sixty days, we would give further
instructions.
29. Ready for questions.
30. We are through for the present.

(Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1295].
2. As we would find, there ARE disturbing conditions that have at times
and do become very aggravating to the whole of the system. These have been
of somewhat long standing.
3. Hence with the applications of the various influences to be acted
upon, or to act upon the system in the meeting of various disturbances,
there has been produced a complication of disturbances or disorders.
4. These as we find have not been wholly understood, for the BASIC cause
- as we find indicated - arises from the effect produced in, or the activity
of, the glandular system.
5. Hence at times and in various ways the disturbance has been to organs,
principally to the blood supply, through the activities of the effect of
one portion of the system upon the other; separating itself and causing
segregations and the building up of activities - but they rise from a principal
cause.
6. These then are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1295],
we are speaking of, present in this room:
7. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, here we find there carried those effects of
these disturbances as has been indicated, and the indication of how the
glandular system has not coordinated and does not coordinate with the rest
of the activity of the system at all times; excesses in some directions,
lack of activity in others.
8. So we find the tendency for the lymph with the emunctory activity
to produce those tendencies for segregations, and thus fill in the portions
of the areas about the body. And the glands become in portions of the body
affected by same, and in localizing - as has been indicated.
9. These are as we find primarily then, as given, the activities from
the lack of activity though the internal portion of the thyroids, through
the adrenals, through the activities of the coordination between the pineal
and the adrenals.
10. Yet they cause in this very activity of the blood supply the inability
of its coagulation, the inability of its functioning in replenishing; and
the body internally becomes bleeding at times, to those portions where
the segregations are set up in the system. Hence these become then disturbing
conditions.
11. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, as we find, all of these being a drain upon
the system, then the nerve forces of the body become involved, but are
as a reflex condition; as indicated to the organs of the sensory system,
as to that coordination between the cerebrospinal and the vegetative or
sympathetic nervous system.
12. These produce then the so easily fagging of the body at times, those
periods when overanxiety may bring to the body depressions or depletions
in many ways and manners.
13. All of these are EFFECTS then, not causes but effects of a deeper
or basic disturbance as we find.
14. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, as has been indicated,
organs become involved.
15. The brain forces, the discernments, the reflex actions to same are
very good; and without that hold upon self we find the body would have
gone to pieces long ago. For there are the abilities for the activities
in self to bring about the awareness of not merely duty, not merely obligation,
but more of the expectancy of opportunity and hope; and these have made
for in the mental reactions an aiding to the body, in its hold as an entity
to meet the general conditions.
16. THEN, AS WE FIND, THESE MAY BE AIDED MATERIALLY; not only with those
applications that are being made for this effect upon the general system
to aid in the stimulating to assimilations and to keep down those tendencies
of tissues breaking in portions of the body as given, but we would add
to same those vibratory forces as from the basic force for life's activity
- to revitalize then those portions of the blood supply, stimulating through
the glandular activities that which will keep them cleansed. For, you see,
much of this arose from some times back in the activity of certain types
of water, as well as a repression to the nervous system when it began.
17. Hence we would add to the blood supply in such ways and manners
through these low electrical vibrations that are the basis of life's vital
forces through the system, those principles of the vibratory forces.
18. Thus we will aid those properties that keep down this inflammatory
condition, that keep out those tendencies for the activities to prevent
the breaking up of cellular forces where coagulation is not carried on
properly, the greater tendencies for healing forces to same.
19. We would, then, add these to the body:
20. We would use the Wet Cell Appliance carrying one day the atomic
iodine, or Atomidine, and the next day the Chloride of Gold. Attachments
would be made to the body as follows:
21. The first day, the smaller plate would be attached first, at the
2nd and 3rd dorsal; while the larger plate, passing through the Atomidine
solution (full strength), would be attached last - to the umbilicus plexus,
or lacteal ducts.
22. The next day, the smaller plate would be attached first, to the
4th lumbar, or the lower lumbar axis; while the larger plate, passing through
the Chloride of Gold solution (and make this a percentage of ten grains
to six ounces of distilled water), would be attached last - to the umbilicus
plexus, or lacteal ducts.
23. Each day the application would be made for thirty to fifty minutes,
but not longer than this - until it has been used for at least thirty days.
The small plate would be attached to the 2nd and 3rd dorsal, or the cardiac
plexus center, only when the Atomidine is used; and at the 4th lumbar when
Gold is used; but each time the larger plate would be attached to the umbilicus
and lacteal duct area, just below the gall duct itself - about a hand's
breadth, not a span but a hand's breadth from the umbilicus or navel center
to the right. Alternate each day in this manner. The solutions would necessarily
need recharging or changing when the Appliance is to be re-charged, after
thirty days. When not in use, take the anodes or the leads that pass into
the solution OUT of the solution. Let these be attached, and charging,
for at least ten minutes before each is attached to the body in the regular
order.
24. This will aid then in the assimilating system, for through the lacteals
the secretions from the system, the activities of the glandular system,
the activities of the liver, the gall duct, the organs of the pelvis, really
the heart activity itself (that becomes disturbed in the disturbance at
times), are centralized for their gathering from the system that which
replenishes same in their activity. For the system itself manufactures,
as it were, all of the tissue, all of the circulation, all of the activity
through which each organ, each portion of the system, is involved. And
this by assimilation from the food values, the activities of the body and
the mental reactions; and these would work with same.
25. Keep this up, with the other applications that are being used for
those helpful forces for the body.
26. Also we would make corrections occasionally along the cerebrospinal
system so that drainages are kept.
27. And we will find much better improvement and the body coming nearer
to the normal forces; for here we are reaching not only through those present
ingredients taken the effect, but through the vibrations raised within
the body we are producing that which destroys the effect of the disturbance
and the basic activity of the body.
28. Ready for questions.
29. (Q) How should the corrections be made?
(A) These as we find had best be made as a Swedish massage; this along
the whole length of the spine, that would set up drainages between the
cerebrospinal system and the vegetative or sympathetic system.
30. (Q) Would treatments from Miss Pam be alright?
(A) These would be very well, if these are given long enough. There's
a tendency to cut off the treatment sometimes with Miss Pam's treatments.
31. (Q) Please give the cause and cure of migraine?
(A) The glandular system as has been indicated, that makes for the
pressures upon the nerve system and the activities of same to the body.
And as these are relieved through the creating of those effects upon the
whole of the nervous system, we will remove the causes as well as the effects.
32. (Q) Should I continue the Beta-Plasmolac?
(A) As has been indicated, this is helpful in meeting effects. But
the application of the electrical forces upon the assimilating system is
for the causes.
33. (Q) Regarding the problem which disturbs me and hinders my health:
Would you advise that we further reduce our standard of living, for greater
security in the future?
(A) This, to be sure, depends upon much of that as is the standard
or the ideal. To be sure, that there is caused anxiety and worry, or the
ideal. To be sure, that there is caused anxiety and worry, which acting
upon the nervous system increases the activity of the pressures - that,
as has been indicated, are sympathetic in nature; then we would not reduce
to SUCH a level that we worry from the other angle also.
For ALL help, all health, all source of supply is
from the DIVINE within. From those activities then of the mental self hold
fast to that; then leave the results with Him. This will bring a consciousness
of the divine purposes in all things that will create the greater harmony
mentally,
physically, spiritually.
34. (Q) Any further advice for this body at this time?
(A) Hold fast to self, not as self but as the opportunities as a channel,
as an aid to those in the environs and the surroundings; and we will find
these attitudes make for and build within the whole of the bodily functions
the greater outlook for hopefulness, helpfulness in every way.
35. (Q) Do you find the husband's [rubber?] business improving in the
near future?
(A) The greater optimistic outlook that is kept in these direction
will aid the most, as has been indicated. Know, do the best you can with
that ye have, leaving the results, the increase in the hands of the Creator;
for this then is indeed faith, and this then brings the greater promise.
And these as we find make for that atmosphere where that which is proper
and right, and that which is in keeping with the divine in all, brings
forth those necessary influences for the greater helpfulness. The husband's
business, if these are kept, will more than triple in the next twelve months.
36. We are through for the present.

(Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes. Mineral baths.
2. Yes, we have the body here, [1017]. Now, as we find, there ARE disturbing
conditions in the better physical forces of this body, [1017].
3. These, as we find, have to do with the eliminations in the system
and with the manner in which the effect of disturbed eliminations has had
and does have upon the lymph circulation. And this disturbance in the lymph,
or the lack of the quantity or amount of lymph, is produced by subluxations
and by specific conditions that have been caused in the system. The effect
of these disturbances then is to produce the disorders. Hence these have
varied in their reaction at times. And the condition has been called two
or three DIFFERENT things.
4. Then, these are the conditions as we find them in the physical forces
of this body, [1017] we are speaking of:
5. First, we find the BLOOD SUPPLY distinctly disturbed as to its manner
of circulation in various portions of the system. Some portions become
(as in the lower extremities at times) so slow as to cause not only some
swelling but discoloration, in spots. And in the joints (as in ankle, as
in knee, as in groin at times) there is a great deal of distress, very
much like neuritis or a rheumatic condition. But it is more the effect
of the pressure upon the circulation produced by a subluxation existent
in the 4th lumbar area, as coordinant with the area at the end of the spine
- or in the coccyx plexus. If these were relieved, as we find, with those
pressures that have caused or been caused by the nerve reflexes - as we
shall see, by the adhesion, or such a condition produced in portions of
the system from this lack of the lymph or of the blood supply that aids
in circulation in tissue - it would MATERIALLY aid the headaches that arise
from the disturbances in the blood supply, the nerve system and the eliminations
of the body.
6. Again in the blood supply we find the circulatory forces as related
to heart's activity making for a change, or quite a difference at times
in the pulsation; at times near to normal of eighty-four - at others we
will find it below even 70 or 72, and at others we will find it to be to
90 or 94. A variation. This may be at times two or three days in its variation,
and then again for several days be near to normal.
7. In the NERVE FORCES of the body, we find:
8. With those changes that have come and are coming about in the eliminations
that affect the organs of the pelvis and through the eliminating system
associated with same, with this subluxation and the pressure that has existed
in the coccyx and the lumbar area, there has been the tending toward the
creating of an IRRITATION. This has produced a coherence, or an adhering
- as it were - of the organs of same, in the area itself.
9. Hence we have at times some minor, and at others some quite disturbing
and aggravating discharge, that makes for quite an irritation upon the
nerves of the system. And this reacting to the body, with the various disturbances
that have been indicated in the nerve forces of the body, assists in bringing
on these periods of very severe headaches. These are from the BEARING down
pains, as it were, or on top of head and to the base of the brain - these
appear as if they were SEPARATING; and, as it were, the feeling that if
the top could be lifted a bit - it would let the steam off - as it might
be expressed.
10. The pressures indicated, coming between or in the area where there
is the coordination between the cerebrospinal and the sympathetic or vegetative
nerve systems, make for a great deal of disturbance physically - or the
internal nervous forces of the body. They produce the inability, as it
were, for the body to move about; disturbing the equilibrium; also affecting
the vegetative forces so that the eyes become - as it were - dimmed; there
appears to be a great deal of humming in the ears; there's a fullness in
the throat and a nausea that comes with all of same, such as to produce
a reaction through the sympathetic forces of the body.
11. These react or make for disturbing factors in this manner through
the forces of the body, as we find.
12. In the functioning of the ORGANS themselves, we find:
13. Brain forces are very good.
14. Pressures as indicated in the nervous forces, of course, find their
reaction in the SENSORY forces of the body, and the sensory nerve reaction;
as well as to the sympathetic reaction to the bodily forces.
15. Throat, bronchi, lungs and larynx: These organically are very good,
yet the disturbance through the circulatory forces makes for disturbances
spasmodically or at times, at intervals.
16. The lungs, the bronchials and the heart's activity: The heart's
activity organically is very good, though through the circulatory forces
as indicated there is the heaviness felt in the lung area when the pressures
on the body attempt to make for a clarifying. Or as the blood is slow in
same, in the deeper portions of the body, or the extremities, it makes
for this heaviness through the lungs, though organically not disturbed
to a great extent.
17. In the digestive forces do we find sympathetically a nervous reaction
and a lack of the proper eliminations through the alimentary canal. These
make for a heaviness through the right portion, or through the liver, the
gall duct area, and ESPECIALLY in the lacteal ducts; a little heaviness
is felt at times in the caecum or the lower right side.
18. The hepatic circulation being disturbed, with the disturbances as
indicated, naturally the inflammation through the area in the uterus and
in the vagina and organs of the pelvis causes a scant and yet at other
times rather an active elimination through the bladder or the activities
of the kidneys. Yet these leave poisons by the very activity, or slow activity
of the hepatic circulation and the disturbance in the whole of the circulation
as an organic activity.
19. Then, in meeting the needs of the conditions of this body, as we
find:
20. We would first take the chiropractic adjustments, ESPECIALLY that
adjustment which is made from this coccyx and lumbar center. Take such
an adjustment treatment, chiropractically, every day for a week to ten
days.
21. Then at the end of that time, leaving off the adjustments for a
week, take during the rest period week each day a douche. To each quart
of tepid water we would add two teaspoonsful, or one dessertspoonful, of
Atomidine - as a solution for the douche, see? This, as we find, will make
for not only cleansing but revivifying the activities with especially the
adjustments as may be made in the lumbar and coccyx area. And such adjustments
would be for not only the relieving of the pressures as indicated, but
to stimulate a general activity and make for a specific correction of the
circulatory forces of the body. Thus we will correct those conditions in
the extremities, in the nervous forces of the body, and those of the more
specific nature as we have indicated.
22. After the douches have been taken for a week (one each day), we
would begin again with the chiropractic treatments and take them for a
period of THREE WEEKS - once each day an
adjustment and a general treatment.
23. In the meantime, if there hasn't been a stoppage of the discharge,
and the pressures and bearing down pains through the pelvic organs, take
again a few - two, three or four - of the douches. For the douches use
about a quart to two quarts of water (prepared as indicated), holding same
as long as convenient without causing pain.
24. Then at the end of the three-week period of the chiropractic treatments
(not before), begin with the deep therapy as may be had from not the sinusoidal
- but that rather with the sinusoidal machine which is of the reverse coil,
or a very low treatment of same. And we would make the attachments so as
to empty or as to cause an activity of the GALL duct, and the circulatory
forces through the upper hepatics; that is, making the connections at the
3rd and 4th dorsal (one plate) and the other plate over the lacteal duct
or the gall duct area. We would only take six to eight of these treatments;
it should not be necessary to take more than that.
25. However, if it becomes necessary to take other chiropractic ADJUSTMENTS,
then another week of the electrical treatments should be sufficient - or
two weeks.
26. During the whole period we would keep the diet tending more toward
the alkalin-reacting nature; body and blood building. But the diets that
have been indicated for the body are very good.
27. As to the baths that have been taken - those of some electric spray,
or the electric baths - unless and UNTIL there is this pressure removed,
these CANNOT be VERY beneficial. They may make for temporary relief, but,
as we find, following these suggestions, in a few weeks - six to eight
weeks - the body should be near to normal.
28. Ready for questions.
29. (Q) Am I suffering from what the medical world calls migraine headaches?
(A) No. Not in toto. True, there are some symptoms of same; but it
is rather that as we have indicated - a disturbance in the circulation
that has borne upon the system in such a manner as to make for irritations
in such measures, in such ways, that it has borne upon not only the sympathetic
but the cerebrospinal nervous system. So, correcting those segments and
aligning the cerebrospinal system as indicated, with the electrical treatments
following same, should - with the douches and the diet, etc. - correct
the condition.
30. (Q) When these headaches occur, what means can be taken for immediate
relief?
(A) An adjustment (chiropractic).
31. (Q) In what condition is the uterus?
(A) As indicated. Follow these suggestions as they have been outlined
and they should bring very much nearer normal forces for this body, [1017].
32. We are through for the present.

(Body & enquiring mind, who seeks an interpretation of the strange
condition which come to her as follows: A tiny light comes into my vision,
vibrating RAPIDLY. It gradually forms a near circle with very brilliant
lights zigzagging, gradually disappearing in the upper corner. This lasts
FIFTEEN minutes. In a few minutes a headache comes, which lasts SIX hours,
then ceases. Back of the lights I cannot see. It all comes suddenly, during
the night or day. Sometimes there have been two such periods in one
day. At first (about nine years ago) it came only months apart; now it
comes very often. Please explain just what this is, the cause, the significance,
and just what I should do about it.)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [774], and those
experiences of the body in the vision of the lights and their effect upon
the physical body.
2. In giving that as may be helpful to the individual in understanding
these experiences, this should be considered from the angle of what has
been builded in the mental experience of the body as to its relationship
- as well as the GENERAL relationship with the universal forces that are
activated upon through the astrological aspect.
3. Or it may be termed in another manner, yet considering - to be sure
- that upon which the mental body has IMPRESSED itself, see?
4. And we have a pathological reaction from a psychological experience.
5. Much of the phenomena is what has been sought, or that is constantly
sought by the body, without sufficient stamina in the coordination between
the psychic body and the material or physical body - for its perfect reaction
as phenomenon. Hence we have a pathological or a physical reaction
from that which should be an experience that may be made helpful to the
body; and may be, if it is builded in the physical and mental reaction
as to become so.
6. Then, the elimination of this should not be sought; for the body
has builded in its MENTAL self that reaction which recurs.
7. So, rather understand and comprehend same from a spiritual angle.
And when such conditions begin, ENTER rather into spiritual attunement
with the mental forces than attempting to vision the phenomenon as it appears.
8. And continue with the PHYSICAL applications for the building up of
the physical body.
9. Thus, as we will find, we will come to see not only the light but
- by the deep meditation - may enter in and become a portion OF the light,
that may bring helpful HEALING attributes TO the psychological conditions
in the body.
10. Hence, guard self by the INFINITE. Or when there are those reactions,
enter in - using this affirmation.:
11. LET NO INFLUENCE, FATHER, BE WITHIN THIS EXPERIENCE THAT DOES NOT
BESPEAK OF THY GLORY TO THY CHILDREN. LET THE LIGHT OF THY COUNTENANCE
BE ONLY THAT AS MAY COME TO ME NOW. THROUGH THE PROMISES THOU HAST MADE
DO I CLAIM, DO I SEEK, DO I ASK, THY PROTECTION.
12. Ready for questions.

(Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body called [739].
2. Now, as we find, there are definite conditions that disturb the better
physical functioning of this body. In the present there is rather a complication
of disorders, and the effects are at times taken for causes of the disturbances;
yet in its incipiency or in its basis the condition is the effect of a
disturbance in the glands of the body - and at times acts upon those reflexes
in the whole mental attitudes of the body.
3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [739].
4. The BLOOD SUPPLY we find carries in same the effects of disturbances
through the activity of the glands, making for disorders in the eliminations;
thus providing the channels through which the activities in the eliminating
systems become crossed, so that we have poor eliminations through some
portions while there is an excess in the activities through the perspiratory
or the outer portion of the body - as in a splotch, and the activities
to the system in its general manner.
5. In these effects we find also the lack of the clarification or the
sufficient oxygen to purify the whole blood stream from the lack of those
vital forces in the system to create the proper resistances through this
unbalanced condition that we find in this portion of the system with this
body.
6. As to the NERVOUS SYSTEM, here we find those incoordinations between
the mental reaction and the physical forces of the body; produced by the
incoordinations in the body itself.
7. The ORGANS of the body show their disturbances through the glands'
activity, through the functioning of the organs in the lung supply or blood
activity, and in the heart's action as to its abnormality; also in the
digestive system through its inability for the proper assimilations - through
these effects upon the system.
8. As we find, then, in meeting the needs of these conditions, these
may be aided in making for a much nearer normalcy. For in those portions
where there has been the effect of the applications for the system, that
has produced the condensation in the lymph circulation in its accumulations
and making for pressures, these will necessitate being taken care of as
to the effects; but as for those things that would make for basic changes
it would be necessary for those stimulations to the body that would produce
for the glands' activity that which would bring to the body not only sustaining
strength but revivify those activities in the organs, such as to make for
same the associated connections between the coordinating forces of the
body and bring a much bettered condition.
9. Hence we find these would be the applications in the present. Then,
as the changes are brought about, we would add those things necessary for
that which has been accomplished - or the change necessary to create the
proper balance:
10. First we would add, then, those vibrations through the active forces
of the glands themselves, that will act with the assimilating forces of
the body as to create a nearer normalcy in the assimilating system; and
then as changes come about for the corrective forces, making the changes
necessary to meet those needs.
11. We would add, then, those vibrations from the low form of the electrical
vibration in the Wet Battery that carries with same both the Gold in solution
and the Nitrate of Silver solution; that these activities may make for
such changes in the body as to bring about that where there CAN be the
aids in the body here.
12. First we would make the application of the Gold each day for periods
of three to five days. The smaller copper anode would be attached first,
in the 9th dorsal plexus area; while the larger nickel anode passing through
the Gold solution (one grain to one ounce of distilled water) would be
attached last, to the umbilicii and lacteal duct area.
13. After each three to five day period, rest or leave off the applications
for one to two days.
14. Then begin with the Nitrate of Silver solution, as we have indicated
through these sources for its activity - a ten percent solution - solvent
in alcohol. Make the attachment of the smaller copper anode first, in the
brachial plexus area (1st and 2nd dorsal); while the larger nickel anode
passing through the Nitrate of Silver solution would be attached in the
4th lumbar area; that we may overcome the tendencies for the accumulations
of poisons that have hindered the body in its activity through the locomotions
and through the portions of the body where these distresses or pressures
have been made.
15. After the Nitrate of Silver applications have been made for a period
of three to five days, then we would have the general massage for a like
period; osteopathic manipulations that would coordinate all those centers
along the cerebrospinal system as to make for the activity.
16. Then repeat the whole procedure, in the manner outlined, for thirty
days - and then we would give those changes necessary for this body.
17. Ready for questions.
18. (Q) Would an improvement in the glandular condition improve the
reproductory system?
(A) A stimulation to these would be a portion of the glands themselves.
Hence the application of the Silver solution to the area in the lumbar
that affects the organs of the pelvis themselves, see? While the Gold solution
is active through the blood supply for the changing of those activities
in the general strength of the body. These would, then, be helpful.
19. (Q) Does the patient's so called migraine headaches come from this
faulty glandular condition?
(A) They come rather from the EFFECT of the glandular trouble upon
the eliminating system. We have in a normal body the assimilating and eliminating
system as provided for through the organs of eliminations; as through the
alimentary canal, the breath, the kidney activities and the functionings
of the organs of same and in the female through the action of the menstrual
periods, that make for these variations in the activities of the system.
When these become disturbed they produce, then, a pressure upon the nerve
forces such as to produce headaches - which are as an indication of disturbance
in the system, see? If we will follow these conditions as outlined, using
the low electrical vibration, we will find many of these disturbances that
are effects in the present will disappear; and with the changes that would
come about in the activities we will produce a much nearer NORMAL body.
First - three to five days with the Gold solution; letting each application
to the body be only fifteen to twenty minutes in the beginning.
Then three days rest from the applications.
Then have the three to five day period of the Nitrate
of Silver solution; fifteen to twenty minutes at each application in the
beginning.
These solutions would be electrically given to the
body, you see; not any internal medicines. Then have the like period of
the osteopathic manipulations; once each day for three to five days.
Then repeat. And after thirty days we would give
further instructions.
20. (Q) What diet would you recommend for the body?
(A) A normal, well-balanced diet; more an alkalin than acid reacting
diet.
21. We are through for the present.

2. EC: Yes - we have the body here. Ready for questions.
3. (Q) Will the injuries received during my football days, in my right
shoulder, right knee, and left ankle, be the means of my rejection from
the Selective Service Induction, for which I am about to be drafted in
February?
(A) If used as in conjunction with the present labors and activities
[at a gov. base], there will be deferment - or reclassification.
4. (Q) If I should go in the Army as a result of the "draft," - (A)
(Interrupting) Well, that's precluding a different thing!
5. (Q) What is recommended for the injuries?
(A) Heat, - as the sweat baths, but these would be with massage; or
the Swedish Massage treatments, see? These would be taken about once a
week until four or five are taken, then left off about three to four weeks,
and then taken again.
6. (Q) What is the best local treatment for the sick headaches I now
suffer with?
(A) These come, here, as we find, from lack of proper assimilation.
Use a good intestinal antiseptic. Take three to five drops of Glyco-Thymoline
in water for two or three days - each day, see, for several days. Then
at each meal take three to six drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin in half
a glass of water. Twice a week, at a meal, add with the Pepsin a teaspoonful
of Milk of Bismuth - stirred in the water with the Pepsin, you see.
This may necessitate (the Bismuth) the using of
a laxative. When this is used, use a mineral salts, - such as the ENO SALTS
or Sal Hepatica. Change from one to the other, you see. But when taking
it, continue it each day for a week to ten days. Then the next time take
a course of the other, you see; and keep these in this order - we will
keep the eliminations and remove the causes of the headaches. [GD's note:
10/52 Dr. D. H. Fogel, studying this rdg., stated that this was NOT a migraine
headache.]
7. (Q) What local treatment is best for the tightness experienced in
my throat and upper bronchii?
(A) The whole general treatment is best. For it's the whole body that
needs relaxing, see? [See 622-5, Par. R3.]

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present
time, with specific reference to the trouble with the stomach and head,
with suggestions for the improvement of any or all of these conditions.
You will answer any question I may ask you regarding same.
2. EC: We have the body here - we have had this before, you see.
3. Now, we find there are many changes in the physical forces of the
body from that as we have had here before. While many of the disturbing
conditions have to do with the same fundamental conditions as were exhibited
in the physical functioning of the body in the first, still these conditions
show considerable change - and not all for the better.
4. The position of the stomach proper shows still to be tilted in the
way and manner as to prevent the emptying of same, also from the proper
digestion taking place within the stomach proper, being too small and being
tipped in the lower end makes a strain, as it were, both on the pyloric
and cardiac ends of the stomach.
5. With the using of the belt or bandage to keep same nearer in place,
this showed some improvement; yet there was not sufficient of the manipulations
to produce that of the muscular tissue to HOLD same in place. This then
produces, as we see, an over acid state in the pyloric and, and often an
over acid state in the cardiac portion. With these acid conditions we find
there is super pressure produced on hypogastric and pneumogastric plexus,
with the corresponding result of the severe headaches at the base of the
brain, extending to the sides of temple, through the third ventricle as
leads to first, second and third nerves of face.
6. The headaches, then, bring about the reaction of the blood to these
portions of the system. The cardiac end then contracting gradually with
those of properties taken to reduce acidity, EMPTIES same in system. Hence
the vitality of the body is reduced, by acidity being produced in the jejunum
and the corresponding inability of the ascending colon to care for these
conditions brings about the lack of activity through the lower portion
of the whole mesenteric system, and the lack of blood supply to the lower
portion of body. Hence the limbs - lower limbs - across the abdomen and
kidneys - often bring some distress to the body from these reflex conditions.
7. To meet the needs of the condition at the PRESENT time:
8. We would use those of the bandage or the support to hold the stomach
nearer in position, using the vibratory force of electrically driven vibrator
for the whole of the cerebrospinal system. Especially would we give those
vibrations at the ninth, tenth dorsal, and at the fourth and fifth dorsal,
see? Wearing the Radium Appliance - Single X - will prove beneficial to
the blood and nerve supply.
9. Keep those properties for the system of the non-acid forces as are
seen in the agar and oil, or Petrolagar - the non-acid, or alkaline. These
will keep down acidity in the system. producing better eliminations.
10. Let all of the food values be rather of the green vegetable nature,
and of meats - only the juices or those of soups made from same. Never
take any hog meat in the system of ANY character. As little of greases
as may be used for the body. Oils a plenty - olive oil WELL for the body.
11. When the body suffers from those reactions to the head [Migraine?],
use high enemas to relieve the condition in the intestinal system. Be consistent
and persistent with these given, and we will bring the greater relief for
the body.
12. Be sure and re-charge the appliance at least once each day for ten
to fifteen minutes in strong light, or sunlight. Do that, [482].
13. (Q) How often should the vibrator be used?
(A) EACH evening before retiring, or when there is the contraction
of the muscular forces about the stomach, whether in pyloric or cardiac
end - when this occurs the vibrator set in motion over the pit of stomach
will RELIEVE the pressure more quickly, using the flat plate. That on the
spine - use the ball and rubber.
14. (Q) Should the Petrolagar be taken regularly?
(A) Should be taken at least one tablespoonful every MORNING. More
often if necessary to have the full action from the intestinal system.
Drink plenty of water. Occasionally use a lithia tablet in same - once
a week or once every two weeks.
15. We are through for the present.

(Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [480]; this we have had before.
2. As we find, conditions are on the improve in EVERY way and manner
with this body. While there are changes coming about, and while there are
at times those tendencies for a reversal to disturbances in the superficial
circulation, ALL of the glandular system that has been the discordant factor
in the physical reactions is becoming more and more coordinant.
3. Hence as we would find, while changes become necessary at times when
the varied reactions
occur, if there is maintained or kept those applications that have
been indicated for the varied reactions in the body, we should find a continued
improvement and an eradication of all those disturbing influences, and
the PERFECT coordination being gradually produced throughout the whole
body.
4. Ready for questions.
5. (Q) Is there a pregnancy?
(A) As we find, this is the beginning of those changes; and these naturally
add to some disturbance, but - ESPECIALLY with the manipulative forces
carried on - this condition should be carried on, and we would find that
this will not only aid in producing a better reaction but in the mental
outlook, in the activities of the body, should bring about better conditions
for the body. [GD's note: This was a true prediction. Following this pregnancy,
Mrs. [480] was completely relieved of the migraine headaches and constant
mental haziness with which she had suffered for a period of over three
years.]
6. (Q) What is cause of the spotting?
(A) This as has just been indicated; there are disturbances with these
changes that are coming about, with the equalizing of the superficial and
the deeper circulation. And as has been indicated in the past from the
tendencies of portions of the eliminating system to carry to portions of
the body refuse forces that should be eliminated through other channels,
these are natural conditions that arise under the circumstance.
But the manipulations should be in accord with setting
up drainages throughout the system, producing the coordination of the superficial
and the deeper circulation as related to the activities of the kidneys,
the liver and the alimentary canal and the respiratory system. These are
the ffects then (the spots) of the activity being nominally and normally
produced from the adrenals, or from kidney spots. Hence as may be said,
the better reaction is the manipulative forces to produce these reactions
as indicated.
7. (Q) How often should these be given?
(A) As we find at least once a week and oftener if there are periods
when the nervous system responds to this and it produces a tendency for
the system to react to conditions from without, or the body becomes jittery
or nervous from any disturbances - then the oftener.
8. (Q) What specific type of manipulations?
(A) As indicated, those that set up drainages. Now, as seen and indicated
in a physical body, there are those connections between the vegetative
or sympathetic nerve system and the cerebrospinal nerve system.
Now the cerebrospinal in the ordinary sense or term
is the deeper circulation; or the impulses that care for the activities
of the heart, the liver, the lungs, the kidneys in their deeper circulation.
Now, in the upper cervical we have those centers between the 3rd and 5th
cervical where the sympathetic or vegetative nerve system coordinate with
drainages from the superficial activity or to the outer portion of the
body itself. Also we have those in the 9th dorsal center, which through
the solar plexus area makes for those particular activities as related
to the conditions that develop from the foetus force in the system, or
the pregnancy. And the 4th lumbar, as coordinant with the 9th dorsal, where
there is made for the gradual relaxation or drainages set so that the kidneys,
the lower portion of the digestive system and all are made to coordinate.
So these particular centers are to receive the particular applications
in these directions. Thus we not only aid in assisting the glandular system
to become better coordinant, but for the bodily functions to be in such
a way and manner that there is less and less of the disturbing forces of
this incoordination, but the developments of all influences in the body
become the better regulated.
9. (Q) What should be done for the nausea?
(A) This under these particular conditions becomes very aggravating
at times to the body, especially of early morning if there has been any
mental reaction that upsets or disturbs the body. As does some irritation
that may arise from physical conditions from the outside or those reactions
to the activities in the assimilating system. Do not use those properties
as indicated that may ordinarily be used, [for nausea, seasickness, etc.,
as in 480-22, Par. 10-A] but ELIMINATE the Iodide of Potassium to almost
nil - just sufficient for a reaction. This should be made and used then
in this way and manner - it should be made at least once each week, fresh;
not to be used after a week's time, for this body particularly!
Limewater.............................1 ounce,
Cinnamon Water .......................1 ounce,
10% solution Bromide of Potassium....10 minims,
10% solution Iodide of Potassium......1 minim.
This may be taken of morning or when nausea occurs.
Do not take too close together. But it will be found to be most efficacious
in pregnancy nausea.
This also adds to a way and manner in which lime
may be taken, that is so necessary for the development of the body itself
(and this should be, you see, a male). [7/6/1937 Baby son was born dead.]
And it should bring for the activities of the body and the whole influences
of the body the better reaction.
As to the diet of the body: In the early morning
there should not be a great quantity of foods, to be sure, but those of
the cereals that carry a great deal of the whole wheat, or barley and wheat
combined. These are MOST helpful, for they carry, to be sure, a quantity
of iron. But with these properties being taken of the LIME, WITH these,
will assist in eliminating much of those disturbances of the excess of
irons as produce blemishes or spots over various portions of the body.
But do not be in such a way and manner as to try to get rid of these. For
these should be rather the indications of how the body is balancing itself.
In the noons we would have rather the raw vegetables as much as possible,
with - of course - vegetable soups or with a little meat. But whatever
the body DESIRES! And we will find one day it'll want one thing and the
next another, and it'll be as strange as may be! But not over-quantities
of this. But these become as necessary influences. For remember, the body
is awakened to the needs of what is in reality CREATION taking place in
the physical reactions! And these should not be denied; though at times
they may be "put to" to find the things just as needed. And oft when they
are obtained it isn't just what it wants! But the fruits, the small fruits
- for soon there will be the desire for strawberries when there aren't
any! There will be the desire for cherries when there aren't any! There'll
be the desire for this, that or the other; but supply these. Not with synthetic
applications or productions, but as near to the PROPER foods in those directions
as possible. Meats - adhere closer to lamb, fowl, fish, goose, duck and
the like. Wild game especially, if there are the possibilities of these
- these will supply elements that are NOT obtained from those where there
are too great precautions taken in their foods. For nature is the greater
physician than all the LEARNED! For as there is given into the keeping
of each body the ability to bring forth that channel through which a soul
may manifest, there is given into the keeping of the mental forces that
which makes for the demands that may BRING these into that way and manner
in which the greater channel may come. For ever is there being sought those
channels through which the spirit of truth and life may be brought to a
waiting, a seeking, a sin-ridden world; for those expressions where the
greater blessings may be given to man in every estate.
Then as has been indicated, add those that are so
helpful; and those combinations in the food values follow rather in those
lines. Not too much, to be sure, of the citrus fruit juices of mornings
for a body in these developing or changing periods, but these may be taken
during the day if desired after food has been taken, for it tends to then
supply those elements for the body itself as well as for the body-building
that becomes more and more of a constructive and building force.
10. (Q) Should Ventriculin be continued?
(A) Not with the iron but without the iron, occasionally. This if taken
once or twice or three times a MONTH should be sufficient. But this produces
and will bring into the activities of the blood stream that which will
supply not only for the body itself but for the developing forces, a greater
ability for resistance to other disturbing forces.
11. (Q) Should she stay in bed continuously, or can she have any exercise?
(A) It is better to have exercise whenever the body feels the abilities
to, or the inclinations. Not an overtaxation, but there should be exercise
of the body; not depending upon the movements of the body in the manipulations
to supply it all.
12. (Q) Any spiritual advice?
(A) As has been indicated. Let the body know, let the body comprehend,
that it is being chosen as a channel for the expression of DIVINITY into
materiality! Not as that which would overburden the mental forces as a
responsibility, but rather should it be ever:
THY HANDMAID, O LORD! USE THOU ME! LET MY MEDITATIONS, LET MY ACTIVITIES
BE THAT THERE MAY BE MANIFESTED THROUGH THIS CHANNEL
THAT THOU WOULDST HAVE IN THIS EXPERIENCE.
13. We are through for the present.

(Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [480], present in
this room; this we have had before.
2. As we find, there is a definite response in the physical forces of
the body to those ministrations that have been made for the body, and the
improvements are basically for a permanent relief and the removal of the
causes that have hindered the body from functioning in its normal way and
manner. These are the conditions as we find them at this time.
3. Ready for questions.
4. (Q) Please explain the periods first of pain back of the eyes, then
the numbness and tingling sensation at end of fingers, then the headache
across top and side of head.
(A) In the cerebrospinal system, as we have indicated, there are definite
centers that have been and are affected at particular period of cycle activity,
or of conditions that are produced for the functioning of the organs as
related to the sensory system and the IMPULSES of the body. Under this
stress and strain there has been gradually built by these impulses that
which makes for an overflow to those centers that sympathetically affect
the vasomotor rotations with the sensory system's activity in the brachial
and in the activity of the hypogastric and pneumogastric plexus. These
affect directly the organs in head; hence make for the pressures in these
portions of the system where the cross activity is indicated, and affect
the circulation through the upper extremities, to the head - which affect
the eyes and the various portions of the head, coming THEN through branches
from the vasomotor to the 5th ventricle and 5th nerve center, which is
in the temple in its expression and to the top of the head, you see. It
is through these, then, that the sensations act upon the body. We would
remove these as we have outlined, through the corrective forces in the
osteopathic adjustments in the centers indicated, and particularly in the
2nd, 3rd and 4th dorsal reflexes, in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th cervicals.
This, as we find, will allow gradually an uninterrupted flow of impulse
through all periods of activities in the body. And the activities that
make for a dilation of the ganglia and various centers through which impulses
are carried for nerves - which accompany the circulatory system - WILL
allow, and do make for, a CLEANSING of the system from the natural accumulations
that find themselves active in a system where disturbances through pressures
or subluxations have caused these conditions to gradually - as it were
- make an embankment or a filling up, that eventually makes for lesions
or for other destructive forces in the body. See?
5. (Q) Why is the headache at times followed by the nauseous condition?
(A) As indicated, when the nerve trunks are affected these have their
reflexes to the conditions in the specific centers from which the hypogastric
and pneumogastric affect through the cardiac plexus center in the 3rd and
4th dorsal. That's why the corrections should be here, and they should
be made from the right side rather than straight up and down; there's the
lateral, then, made from the right side toward the left; for when these
are affected they work in sympathy. Hence pull toward the lower portion
of the stomach, or from the cardiac to the pyloric end, thus producing
- as it were - a sensation of the gastric juices being drawn towards the
upper portion. Hence too much hydrochlorics into the lactic portions, and
the nausea.
6. (Q) As soon as I am conscious that it is coming on, how can the headache
be prevented?
(A) By a direct application or treatment to those centers through which
this activity is pushing to the impulses of the whole system; that is,
to the 3rd and 4th dorsal and 4th and 5th cervical. [8/16/47 See 2345-1
Reports, saying that [480] was completely cured of migraine headaches via
EC rdgs.]
7. (Q) Has the inflammation been checked that began to attack the white
fluid in the nerve channels?
(A) Being checked, through the dilation and through the pouring into
the eliminating channels drosses that MADE for this accumulation along
the activity of the blood vessel or flow itself: through the application
of the electrical forces that we have indicated.
8. (Q) Are the treatments which I have been taking having the desired
effect?
(A) As indicated, these are having the desired effect; the only change
that we would make would be in the manner of the corrections being made;
that is, instead of being lateral or up and down on the spinal system,
you see, they would be made from the right TOWARD the left. See? Then we
may remove this pressure in this particular vertebra or center; 3rd and
4th dorsal.
9. (Q) How long will it take for the condition to be corrected and the
cause removed?
(A) This, as we have indicated before, depends upon the response of
the system to the applications. For this MAY be checked almost in two to
three weeks, but to remove the CAUSE - for it to remain in a permanent
thing and not later have after effects from same - would require that the
drosses be drained from the system, and that the alignments be made so
that there may be coordinations between the eliminating systems. Let this
take a little bit longer and then be
PERMANENTLY relieved; but this should be by September-October - this
year.
10. (Q) Why does my skin break out, and how can I cure it?
(A) As we have just indicated, there are drosses and accumulations.
Let us explain so the body will understand:
Each activity, whether the pulsation of the heart
or the movement of the hand, the use of the vision, speech, walking, or
WHAT activity, is USING energy in the body, and this energy leaves what
may be called ash - or what we have chosen to term the DROSSES. As the
circulation passes through the system, the natural activity is that along
the corpuscles' activity these are thrown into the channels not only of
the alimentary canal as the drosses from food taken into the body - as
ash - but the nerve and muscular reaction carried into the blood supply
is to be, through the activity of the liver, the lung, thrown off through
one or the other of these channels. See? It is thrown off in the breath,
through the liver activity - as an excretory and secretive functioning;
that is, the secretions are activities from the system and as these are
thrown into the blood supply here, with the activity of the pancreas, gall
duct, spleen, these all in their activity throw out drosses as in the rest
of the system. If the eliminating channels coordinate one with another,
then these are thrown off in their REGULAR way and manner. If there is
disturbance from the incoordination of eliminations through the menstrual
periods, so that drosses from the system - from such accumulations as the
activity of the organs of the body in gestation and in the organs of the
pelvis, and those activities through all portions of the system - are carried
BACK into the system, we find accumulations that may come in the form of
a rash, or a specific activity in the form of an acidity or an alkalii,
or it may come only in portions of the body where the exterior activity
- as in the face, hand or arm, or some particular portion - may throw off
these from the very activity of other portions of the body being more exposed
brings these to this portion of the system, see? Then, when the eliminations
are corrected - that is, the activity of the blood supply, of the nerve
energies along the cerebro-spinal system - and the system itself is cleansed,
and the locomotory centers are coordinated - as in the brachial area and
in the lumbar area - the 9th, 10th and 12th dorsal that will affect the
activities of the coordinations between the organs of the pelvis in those
periods in the body - we will find these will disappear.
11. (Q) Is the splitting of nails due to my general condition? Is there
any special care that may be given them?
(A) That is why those things have been given for the activity to the
glands themselves, that there may be a better activity through the thyroids
to coordinate with the adrenal and the lacteals and in the active portion
of the assimilating forces; thus bring to the body the sufficient activity
to bring to all portions the proper stimuli. These various glands in the
body, you see, draw from the same source of supply to produce that necessary
to carry on its functioning, see? as from the thyroid - the nails, and
all those portions of the system where there are the special activities
as relate to the thyroids, to the adrenals, to the digestive fluids, with
the pancrean fluids. Hence the Tonicine activity for the body is for these
functionings. It carries in same the digestive fluids that work with the
glands in the stomach itself, so that the thyroid activity may carry not
only the activity for the eliminations through the menstrual periods but
as for all the activities of the glands as related to same. Naturally,
precautions should be taken as to the food values, and that the eliminations
are kept normally.
12. (Q) Any further advice for my better welfare at this time?
(A) Be consistent, yet be persistent. Do not get to the position of
depending upon any of the applications, but see - through the imaginative
forces (for the body is well equipped, as has been given [See 480-1, Life
Rdg.], in its mental facilities, in its mental discernments - and so few
people have discernment, in the discernments of the activities) [After
480-8 Miss [480] said she felt greatly complimented at this statement]
- that that being administered is doing a definite thing, bringing about
definite activities. See this being carried out in the body, you see, and
we will find we will not only bring normalcy but make for the better understanding,
the better relationships between the activities of self and the influences
about self, as to bring happiness, peace and harmony and - most of all
- contentment.
13. (Q) How should she take the Tonicine?
(A) As indicated, this is well to be taken just before the periods,
so that there may be the activities of the glands of the system, the increase
in the blood supply, the increase of those activities as related to the
coordination between the eliminations of the body and the organs of the
pelvis; that will make for the ACTIVE forces, making more the impulse for
proper coordination at such periods.
14. (Q) How long will I have to continue to take the Ventriculin?
(A) This is well, for it produces DEFINITE conditions or FEELINGS towards
certain activities in the body; that is, the raising of the abilities for
thought or activity; or boosts the body up, you see. This should be taken
for those periods when there is the feeling of the lack of the strength
or the buoyancy that is necessary to make - well, in common terms - sufficient
"pep". But keep in the open; having a great deal of the activities that
may enable the body to have the effect of the ultra-violet from the sun's
activity upon the skin. Those things that make for the proper amount of
activity for the perspiration; not overexertion, but there should be the
proper reaction from cold showers, cold rubs - all of these will affect
not only towards removing the necessity of taking stimulants to increase
the blood cell force but will purify more of what is there and also coordinate
the eliminations.
15. (Q) Should she take mineral oil to keep the eliminations?
(A) Mineral oils are well. The better to combine with same, as we find,
at times, would be olive oil; for this is an intestinal food as well as
eliminant.
16. (Q) What quantities should be taken?
(A) All the body will assimilate for a period of two or three days,
but that doesn't mean taking large quantities. Take small quantities often.
Sip half a teaspoonful, or a teaspoonful, two, three, four times a day.
If it becomes such that it is tasted or belched, then reduce the quantity
but take just as regularly. Then stop for two, three or four days, and
then take for several days more. The mineral oil, of course, may be taken
in quantities, just so it does not produce regurgitation.
Follow these and, as we find, we will bring for
this body; [480], a normal physical activity, the mental balance and -
as given - discernments WELL.
17. We are through for the present.

(Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now, there are some abnormal conditions
in this body. There are some conditions that have become normal to this
body that to another body would be an abnormal condition of the body. The
nature and the disposition and the intent and purposes have entered much
in the conditions as exist within the body itself. The body has been, and
is, of a strong disposition, sufficient to take care of itself beyond the
ordinary person within its physical forces. It is hedged about by many
outside forces that the ordinary individual is not.
2. Now, these are the conditions that we find in this body, [170] of
whom we are speaking. The blood supplying forces within the body are very
good in their nature and character and ability to supply as yet the forces
needed to carry on rebuilding within the system. Yet its heart action at
times, through other conditions, produce in the circulation an abnormal
condition of the circulation, not in the circulation. At times there is
a depressed feeling from the condition of the heart forces rather than
of the circulation carried by the heart being of a different or abnormal
condition.
3. In the nerve forces we find throughout the system those have begun
to show the effect of their action or the weight of thought over the entire
system - that is, the body is beginning to feel at times that it has nerves,
when before it was not so emphatically expressed, or to such an extent,
through the physical forces. At times there are things that cannot be borne
by this body which before did not have this effect.
4. The action and/or functioning of the organs themselves we find of
an abnormal condition. They have mostly to do with the organs of the trunk
portions of the body - those of the viscera and those of all of the digestive
tract and intestinal tract - here is where we have had conditions that
have shown an abnormal growth in places. Some of these have been corrected
by external forces, some corrected by the action of other forces outside
the body, through mental or through spiritual forces, as will be given.
5. We find the action of the brain forces is very good, excellent. The
body is well balanced.
6. The action of the lung forces is good. The clarification of the blood
is carried on through its proper channels.
7. Throughout the intestinal tract, beginning with the stomach, we find
inflammation at times; there is a feeling of uneasiness through the lower
end of the stomach. Reflexly this produces the pain through the head, especially
over the left eye [migraine?], from which this body suffers at times. These
are reflex and are acted on by the condition as reached through the stomach
and pancreas and gastric juices. Pain is produced through certain portions
of the body through the viscera and generative organs. These conditions
are reflex and not organic.
8. The actions of the heart forces have been overtaxed and have produced
the condition as we find in the circulation. The stimulants that have been
given to the heart have been bad for the system itself. It should have
been stimulated through the functioning of the ganglia and muscular forces
that govern the organ instead of by giving into the system properties that
excite the nerves from their seat.
9. The functioning of the liver is retarded at times. The lymph is increased
to such an extent that a puffiness comes over the body. We have reflexly
from this, or from certain drugs or medicinal properties, being taken into
the system to overcome this, (not at present, but there have been used)
that which creates in the lymphatic circulation a dryness.
10. At times the hepatic circulation, that is, the liver and kidneys
are affected; at times there is too much urine and times not sufficient.
The condition here shifts, as it were, from one organ to another - that
is the effect at times, hence the reason of the exploratory conditions
that have been found in the system at times by medicinal fraternities.
11. To remove or to bring the body to a normal condition, or to assist
the spiritual forces that go to make up the life of this physical body
here, [170], we find here, as we have given, that this body has more to
do with spiritual forces than the ordinary body, or more than the public
outside knows. There are many spiritual forces hedged about this body that
are not with the ordinary individual. They all work to give to this body
the better forces, more than to any body we have had in this heretofore.
To assist these to bring a normal condition to this body, give this to
the system: - [Wet Cell Appliance]
12. We would take two gallons of rain water. To this we would add:
Willow Charcoal.............1/2 lb.,
Copper Sulphite.............1/2 lb.,
Zinc..........................6 drams,
Sulphuric Acid................1 ounce.
13. This is a form of wet battery and would create electricity in itself.
Inside of this we would place 4 ounces of iodine in a glass container,
sealed. Use one iron pole and one silver pole. Charge this battery through
a smaller battery of low voltage of 3 amperes, 30 cycles and 120 volts
for 30 minutes. Then wires are attached to the poles from opposite sides
then there would be attached to the plate. That would be attached to the
body at the ninth dorsal for 20 minutes each evening. The action of this
will be to create in the solar plexus centers the correct vibration to
give to the entire trunk portion of the body that vibration needed to produce
the proper functioning of the organs throughout the trunk portion of the
body.
14. This will reduce fleshiness and will carry the proper lymphatic
circulation in the system and, with the spiritual forces, work to keep
the body on this plane for many years.
15. (Q) Is there any special treatment?
(A) Do this as we have given here and we will bring the proper forces
in proper accord to this body here, [170].
16. We are through.
