Cayce Comprehensive Symptom Inventory (CCSI)
   Workbook and Manual
Version 1.0

SCALE 10
LOW CALCIUM

CONTENTS

EXPLANATION

Calcium is an essential element important for maintaining the structural integrity of the body.  Deficiencies in calcium result in bone problems, especially with the teeth and nails.  Edgar Cayce also linked calcium deficiency with circulatory problems (low blood pressure and poor superficial circulation), fatigue, lowered resistance to disease, and anxiety.

THERAPEUTIC OPTIONS

DIET

The primary therapy for calcium deficiency is diet.  Here is a list of calcium rich foods
recommended by Edgar Cayce:

Spinach, steel cut oats, whole grain cereals, cheese, onions, garlic, rhubarb, milk, raw
cabbage, turnips, turnip greens, beets, celery, carrots, water cress, lettuce, citrus fruits,
     parsnips and oyster plant

The bones of fish and fowl were often recommended as good sources of calcium.  The neck, head, wing and feet of fowl were especially emphasized as good sources of calcium.

DIETARY SUPPLEMENTATION

Calcios was a dietary aid recommended by Edgar Cayce in over 200 readings, making it a primary calcium supplement.  Calcios was created by A. A. Nicholson and manufactured by Colloidal Health Products, Inc.  The primary active ingredient in Calcios was calcium.  Edgar Cayce began recommending Calcios in 1938 after reading 1564-1 discussed the therapeutic value of the product.  Typically, a small of amount of Calcios was to be spread on a whole wheat cracker and eaten with a meal (often the noon meal).

The therapeutic effects of Calcios as described by Edgar Cayce were:

  • Stronger tooth enamel and healthier teeth
  • Better resistance to disease
  • Stronger blood
  • Stronger body structure
  • Improved circulation (especially helpful for low blood pressure)
  • Improved glandular functioning (particularly thyroid)
  • Prevention of splitting nails
  • Decrease in loss of hair
  • Healthier pregnancy and gestation
  • Treatment for tuberculosis (with Acigest and other therapies)
  • Improved digestion and assimilation
  • Improved eliminations (purification)
  • Increased nerve energy
  • Alkalizing of the system
  • Stimulation and coordination of the hepatic system
The original Calcios product is no longer commercially available.  The Heritage Store sells a product called Calcios which is based on the concept of Calcios as recommended by Edgar Cayce.  It is not known if the current Heritage product is comparable to the original formulation.
